Look at the inlet pipe connected to the catilytic convertor. If the pipe going into the convertor is a bluest color the convertor is plugged up causing no power. If you can disconnet the convertor the enginge will run like new again. If this happens replace the convertor

I have a 2006 honda scv100 that has recently lost most of its power and top speed. It used to do 53mph but now it really struggles to hit 29mph and accelerates very slowly.

You will need to take the car to a Honda service center and have the engine system scanned for faults because with that type of performance there will be engine fault codes being generated by the computer. You may also have a check engine warning light showing .

Once the fault codes have been pulled a proper diagnosis of the causes can be undertaken. From what you have described, the issues with the engine has caused the computer to send the engine into limp mode to minimise any damage.

I have a 2006 Nissan Almera 1.5 petrol. today the engine light came on and I lost power. It has struggled to start since. Anyone know anything about this?

There are hundreds of reasons for the check engine light to come on. Hook up a scanner, read the diagnostic trouble code/ codes and put here to correctly diagnose the problematic area.
Just to pull you out of your problem, my conjecture is that there might be some problem with your throttle body system.
To delete the error codes, simply remove the negative battery terminal for more the 5 Sec and then reconnect.
It should work fine. If the problem persists, contact a qualified service personnel.

Engine light

Take it to an auto parts store that offers free code scanning first. Might be a simple sensor fix..

No power going up hill

check the transmission if it is slipping. If not, check if you are spitting oil from the exhaust. If your exhaust is whitish in the rear, then your engine needs to be rebuilt.

Check engine light is on. No power, struggle to to obtain 50mph. Power brake and engine surges dramaticly @2500 rpm

Sounds like a fuel system problem, but it's nearly impossible to tell without a computer scan. Have a competent mechanic run a scan and check the vehicle's fuel pressure.

How to put a 2l 16v in rover metro

I doubt that you'll be able to squeeze a T-series engine into the engine bay, not only that, the extra weight would cause problems too.

You're better going for a K-series 1.8VVC engine. They're 145/160BHP, light and will fit with some modification to the subframe.

Try searching for the 'metro power' forum, or visit

Engine Light

Hi, due to how the newer cars and trucks are built, the only way to actually find the issue here is to run a diagnostic scan. most of the time when the check engine light illuminates, its because of a bad sensor that is either not connected correctly or it has some sort of internal malfunction that cancels out its signal producing abilities. Example- If the crank sensor becomes unstable, it will cause the ECM to send the code and it will simultaneously shut down the fuel pump as well, rendering the vehicle useless.

Most auto zone stores can preform this diagnostic scan fo a reasonable price. they can pull the code and you can purchase the troubled sensor or part there as well.

Please rate and god bless:)
