Question about Mazda B-Series

I own a Mazda Drifter Disiel 2500D. I changed disiel filter and lost power. Glowplugs were change about a month ago. Even if I press the pedal to the floor now there is no power. What must be the problem?

It sounds like there is air the fuel system. You will have to bleed this air out of the fuel lines. did you use the primer pump after you installed the filter?

locking gas caps would be a good start. there are also aftermarket guards to install in your tank so nothing can get in there "accidentally"

It sounds like you have rod knock in your engine. Stop driving your Jimmy and have a mechanic look at the engine immediately. You may have already damaged your block by having a rod poke through it.

I am only guessing at this since you did lose power. The rod closest to your flywheel might have broken or bent, causing a loss of power under load.

is it a cable driven sensor? if so check for anywhere the cable could be binding up and grease the cable.

with the older diesels if you run the tank dry you could airlock the injector rail. to bleed them you must crack the lines up top while the pump is running. engine off. due to high pressure.

Temporary loss of power

have fuel pressure checked if ok should be approx 60psi.if ok try disconnecting mass air flow sensor connector to see if problem is eliminated. this the computer in to a default mode.the sensor is a common problem.thanks from schleck
