2003 chevy silverado is cranking and running but will not accelerate.

Need codes, because the engine and transmission will both cause "reduced power".

Not start fuses and relays all goodhave 2.3 v on the crank fuse with key on and 12 v in crank position the main ground wire on the block also has a small ground wire with it if taken off it has 9.5 v

Add a second ground cable from battery to truck body and to the engine, Sounds like a floating ground problem..

Use a Large wire for the ground, 4 gauge should be good..

I have a 2003 silverado, it starts fine in the morning but the rest of the day it cranks for a long time before starting. turning the key on and off a few times doesn't help. I have had the fuel pump

If the fuel pump is inside the gas tank, remove the gas cap, to equalize the air-pressure inside/outside the gas tank. That should let the fuel pump "suck" the gas from the tank.

How do you get change engine oil to disapper?

2002 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado
  • Insert your key into the ignition, and turn it to position "A" (Run/On) without cranking the engine.

  • Depress the gas pedal three times within five seconds. The "Change Oil" message will begin to flash.
  • Turn the ignition to position "A" (Lock/Off) once the light stops flashing (about 10 seconds).

My 2003 Silverado will crank, but not start.changed the fuel filter, but no help. how do i check to see if the crankshaft sensor has gone bad? and,in cubic inches..what does a 4.8L V8 come out to?

Easiest way to check is with a scan tool.In data stream it should show rpms while cranking if it does not then the sensor isn't working. Is the fuel pump coming on? Usually you can clearly hear a buzzing noise from underneath the vehicle while cranking. Roughly 293 cubic inches is a 4.8L
