First of all

  • does it have an electric operated boot release button?

If it does , It probably needs adjusting to remove slack tension.
Trouble is its the boot....AARRRRGGGHH !! LoL
Although I own a V8 Holden Statesman, not a Alfa GTV,
An elec boot release is an elec boot release, Try what I do for mine.
Have someone push down on boot lid & release it , as you keep quickly hitting the button.OR have them sit on it.
Works most of the time for me .

If key fails to turn quite enough to open the boot, Or not at all , then the barrel may need lubrication or replacement.

As electric boot release motors only have a small amount of torque & share the same mechanism as the key itself. Therefore a "sticky" lock will eventually result in the loss of cable tension

To Lubricate you lock ...( no pun intended lol )
  1. Dip the your key in some oil .Motor/Baby/Sewing/Tan/Cooking anything like that, just on the area that is inserted into the lock.
And insert into the lock , Remove & repeat over , whilst jiggling the key untill it will open

  • Or Use a spray product such as CRC or WD-50 with the small straw that inserts into nozzle.

If that fails , and you get cannot access the rear of the lock area from inside the boot to manually operate the latch, Then youll need to force it open and replace the barrel itself.

First visit the wreckers/Auto shop and pick one up...dont forget the

Next Hammer a suitablly sized flat-blade screw driver into the keyslot of the bootlock, take care not to damage the car, but dont be afraid of making the lock itself look reaaal ugly, hammer, twist, wiggle untill its either open or out of the way .
once visible , turn the "square hole" to open your boot and attach the new lock.

After it has

Alra Romeo ??? OH !!! I thought it was an AlFa romeo ....

Anyways IT DOESNT ******* MATTER what car I own.
Because opening a boot that wont open is no different between my car and your shitty little un-impressive wog-chariot reject.
What would be more impressive is If you knew enough to even spell the name of your own car correctly ....

Thanks For Giving me my first ever bad rating , I would have prefered it more If it was deserved . A real insult after trying my best to help you.

******** AND YOUR alRa Romeo ....

I aint gunna help nobody out no more

Alfa Romeo GTV run out of petrol now not start

Smack the bottom of the fuel tank in the center. If the pump starts working again, replace the pump. Old pumps can't take a dry run. they tend to lock up. smacking the tank shakes them sometimes and they will work. But this is only temporary. It will eventually quit all together.

The passenger footwell filled up with water in a storm. I took the grille off below the windscreen and can't seem to see where the water is supposed to drain.

There are slots in the bottom frame of the car if they get clogged water will enter the cabin. There are 3 slots on each side. clean these out so water can run through.

Sounds as though the tank sensor is faulty. Access through top of petrol tank, note the wiring colours and position. Lift out and check condition of float and the rheostat wiring and slider. Get a replacement from EB spares

Parking sensors stopped working

Your symptoms do not seem to indicate a problem with the parking sensors , IMHO, possibly either poor connections somewhere in the system or problems with the control box.

Was told there is button inside car to open boot but cant seem to find it thank you

There is a button in the car, it is usually on the dash amongst the other ones, but there is another way.

Swivel the Alfa Romeo badge up on the boot lid and you'll find the boot lock underneath it.

Very best regards
