I had the same dead blower problem, the resistor was corroded. It´s under the dashboard on the passenger side.

Could be the fan switch or the resistor in the circuit. The resistor controls voltage going to the blower motor. There could also be a restriction in the vents.

Vw polo heater blower only works on full power

all speeds go through the resistor except high that is why it will work on high you are bypassing the resistor if you are sure the resistor is good it has to be the blower spped switch on the dash

It does sound like a bad switch --- possibly arcing and overheating -- or it could be dirty / corroded contacts on the switch or in the wiring harness connector.

The switch should come out fairly easily after getting access to the back of it -- it probably has tabs on it which when pressed in will allow the switch to come out the front.

P.S. The blower motor resistor would not cause an overheating switch -- a bad resistor would at worst allow maximum current to go through the switch -- the switch is designed to run the blower at full speed (maximum current) w/o overheating...

The blend door may not be working properly. It is actuated by a vacuum motor.

or the following part may be bad:

Blower Motor Control Module Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Remove the insulator from the right side of the instrument panel.
  2. Disconnect the connectors from the blower motor resistor and blower motor.
  3. Loosen the two forward screws and remove the rear screw of the resistor assembly.
  4. Remove the blower motor resistor assembly.
To Install:
Install the blower motor resistor assembly. Install the rear screw and tighten the forward screws. Connect the electrical connectors to the blower motor and resistor assembly. Install the insulator under the right side of the instrument panel.

99 Yukon - Blower Motor Not Working

I went through the same thing with my 99 suburban. It turned out to be the dash fan control switch. It is purchased seperate from the whole cluster for under twenty dollars. The instrument panel cover comes off gently by hand with the tilt steering in the down position. You have to then unplug the electrical plugs to get it out of the way. The heater ac control panel then comes out by hand far enough to unsrew the heater fan control from the back.

Head lights and a/c and heat

I had a similar problem with the blower not shutting off so the dealership replaced the resistor pack under the dashboard.

The blower stopped working several months later and the lights would turn off if you turned the blower to the on position. It was causing a drain on the power so things like the lights and rear defrost did not work. The blower had an internal short and was replaced.
