If you have a 8 1/4 or 9 1/4 axles, you have a screw that needs to be removed first.

If you have
248 Rbi, 267 Rbi, 286 Rbi Axles you just have to pull them out.

Are you need ing to replace an axle?

When changing out the right axel should the axel pull out of the transmison or is there a lock of some sort that will need to be removed.

The shaft has a clip on the end to hold it in the transmission but it stays with the shaft and does not need to be removed seperately, Easiest way to get the shaft out is to use 2 prybars, on on each side and pop the shaft out. When installing the new shaft, make sure it is in all the way and that the clip is holding it in.

You don't. Ever work on a rear axle. Remove cover, one bolt, pull pin and axle clip. Then pull axle, and off to auto parts store, to press on new bearing.

How to remove rear axle from a 2000 mercury marquis to replace bearing have wheel off and calibers

Open the rear end, and take out keeper that holds the axel in..

if you push on the axel a bit and feel it slide into the rearend, that will show you the keeper at the other end...

Remember to have a catchpan under the rearend when takeing the cover off, as the fluid will drain out, and make sure to replace the fluid, (can't tell you how many get in a hurry and forget that part) Check with Ford to make sure what type fluid it is, (synth mix, full synth, or standard 80/90)

Need 2 get axels out of ford 8.8 rearend. I got it all apart but i cant get the axels to come out. I need to replace the axel seal and bearing. Hope you can help.

Do you have the pin in the differential out & "c" clips removed, or is it a different system? Once pin is out you push in slightly on axles & remove "c" clip, then pull them out.

85 cj7 rear axle removal

Do you have bolt in axels? or are they held in with C- clips? If its bolt in axels you need to remove the bolts, and you may need an axel puller to get them out. If its got C- clips rear cover on rearend has to come off, and pin has to be removed to get C- clip out to get axel out.
