A couple of things....thermostat is bad, the water pump may be faulty or you have a low antifreeze fluid level.

First check to make sure the radiator fan is working properly. Then install a new thermostat. The thudding and a clicking when you turn right or turn left sharply is most likely the ball joint. Very inexpensive and fairly easy to change.

Runs roughly when started 1997 bravada

There are numerous things that can cause a rough run when started. Is it during a cold start? Possible leaking fuel injectors or intake manifold/vacuum leak for a cold start rough run

The engine kills in the first mile.

Overheating, maybe? Get a technician to read the diagnostic codes (or rent/buy the tool to do it yourself) they will almost certainly tell you what is wrong.

1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette overheating

Is it leaking antifreeze underneath the engine at all when it sits overnight? If so I would say the water pump is shot. If it isn't leaking, it could still be the water pump but it might(hopefully) just need a new thermostat. And driving it when it's hot like that to the point where it starts to run rough means you run it too much like that and your engine will blow up and there is probably already damage. So check it out before driving it to much more.

Caravan runs very rough at start up when cold

have you installed new plugs lately,if so have someone check the Engine Coolant Switch,
this sensor tells the engine how cold it is so the computer knows what kind of fuel mixture it will need.

COLD START ROUGH IDLE

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but may be the head gasket.

My car started with rough idle. Then very hard to start in cold weather. Next started overheating, but no output from heater. Trickling sound from behind dash board. Overflow bottle overflowing.......

I replaced the water pump, radiator cap, thermostat, coolant, fan belts, power flushed the system. Nothing worked. Some research gave me the answer.

The head gasket leak was allowing exhaust gases to enter the cooling system, displacing the coolant. After use, as engine cools, coolant is sucked back into the system and coolant seeps into the cylinder. This gets worse over time.

First thing you'll notice is the rough idle as the spark plug burns off the coolant in the cylinder. (This is especially true at low temperatures.) If it is the head gasket, the other symptoms will follow as time goes by.

Car trouble

Its because that the engine is very cold, try to worm it up more time before you start driving.
