That is the GM designation for a 3/4 ton so you would be allowed to carry 1500 lbs. Any more than that and you are on your own. The HD just means that the suspension has been overbuilt a little to handle the payload. Hope this helps.

Do not listen to the above saying "1500 pounds".
That is/was the OLD designation used to determine weight a truck could carry.

Todays trucks are built better and I suggest you look at the decal inside your drivers door for the GVW = Gross Vehicle Weight. It will also give you front and rear capacities.
Add the weight of your truck and the people in it along with added tools and what not you normally drive around with. Then subtract that from your GVW and that will give you the maximum allowed weight for the truck.

I would be careful tho as most states have Truck plates that only allow a total weight capacity of 8,000 lbs unless you get commercial plates to allow for the extra weight. Cops know this and will take advantage of a over weight ticket if you look suspect or over loaded, ie: rear sag and headlights pointing up.

Just changed oil on 2008 chev 2500HD Duramax and it is already black could this be a problem? i have noticed a clicking sound not constant but random coming from somewhere on the block

You need to run an engine cleaner through your engine. Drain about 1 quart out and pour in a bottle of cleaner. Let engine run for about 5 minutes and drain oil and change oil filter. You may want to consider doing this with the next 2-3 oil changes to remove all the build-up in the engine. You will tell a big difference. Also, some do this as I am one of them. During the winter months I use a thicker oil and during the summer the recommended oil weight. Just to assure you it's fine, read the owners manual and it should be in there about using a heavier weight. Good Luck

What type of fluid do i need to put in the rear end and how do I know if it is a limited slip

Hi, you could use 75 weight synthetic fluid, and if you have limited slip, there will be a label in your glove box, with option codes stating G80. If you do not have G80, then you do not have limited slip. Thanks...Coop

Driver door panel removal

Hello. Remove the screws near the door handle. Use a putty knife to gently slide between the panel and the metal frame and pry the panel loose from a series of clips. If u break a clip don't worry as every auto parts store carried em. J.

I have a 2002 GMC sierra 4/4 and my torsion bar needs adjusted

i did mine on my 04 2500hd. first you have to jack it up by the frame to take the weight of the suspension, you should be on level ground, turn the bolts so they push up start with like 1 or turns on each then put the truck down and measure both sides and adjust until your height is where you want it and level on both sides. you might have to do it a few times until you get it where you want it. dont go to high or the ride will be rough

After rotating tires on 07 GMC2500 HD, truck bumps & bounces

It has to do with true round or weight. either the rim is out of round or is damaged for some reason. Or maybe the rotors are not balanced. Sometimes wedge style weights are used and they fall off. Good luck.
