Question about Chevrolet Chevy

1 Answer

I took my 2004 Z71 Surb into the dealership for a check of the 4w drive light that was on. They told me it was encoder motor but I like they were not telling the truth. The code on the paper says C0327 is that the motor or the sensor? Please let me know thanks Gwen

  • C0327 - Encoder Circuit Malfunction most likely the motor is bad but could be in the wiring as well.

I have a 2002 Silverado Z71. When I purchased the vehicle the 4 wheel drive did not work. I took it to the shop and they said the Transfer Case Control Module was bad. I replaced it. Everything worked fine...

I would check to make sure the correct ECM is installed in this auto right away before adding anything else to this truck.Check it like the shop should have, this angers me so when i hear this stuff. Neither shop should have been paid for bandage solution. Then get back to me.

    Service 4w drive

I had a similar. Problem with 2000 GMC Sierra. I had it scan, but no problem was detected. It turn out to be the selector switch for the 4x4 on the dashboard. I was informed by a friend at the dealership of the bulletin for this problem. But the dealership would not cover the problem since no recall has been issued yet. I did get the dealership to sell me the switch at cost, $43.00. Hope this helps.

4 wheel drive lights flashes but then returns to 2wheel drive -- some time it will lock in 4w low but both 4w hi and 4w low lights are on --- have new tccm module.

It is the shift motor for the 4wheel drive - only problem is that a shop has to program the new shift motor to the blazer or it will keep doing the same thing

4wd message light is on. GM dealer says I need to replace encoder motor. Is there anything I can do until I can afford to fix the problem? Is it safe to drive?

My GM dealer told me the same thing when my light came on. Cost to replace would be $610. I took the fuse out of the instrument panel and replaced it. What do ya know...the light went off and the 4wd works.

In my Chevy Optra 2004 the "Check Engine Light" came on. I took it to the dealership and they ran a diagonstic scan. Charged me $70.00 and told me that the Camshaft Positioning Sensor has to be replaced....

If having the light does not affect drivability then keep useing. When the position sensor packs it in completly it may not start but until then, happy motoring.[put a peice of black tape on the dash to make it less annoying.]

2004 silverado 4 wheel drive does not work, 4 wheel high button remains lit, will not change to any other button

    1. Inspect Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) and encoder/motor wiring, terminal contact, grounds.

    2. Install updated TCCM calibration.

    3. Inspect for TCCM water intrusion.
    4. Replace transfer case encoder/motor. 1. Check voltage on pin A, Light Blue wire at the engage switch.

    2. The voltage should remain near 1.0v with no buttons pushed, compare to the value on the scanner when the problem happens.

    3. Back close to the switch by hand and check for a glitch.

    4. Wiggle tug test harnesses at the switch and TCCM.

    5. Check terminal to pin grip. could be your transfercase control module locater under drivers side of dash. or the encoder motor
