If the radio was the original, I would contact a Honda dealer with the VIN in hand and tell them the problem.
Somewhere in their system, your VIN and that code are tied together, otherwise it would have never worked when new either.

2001 suzuki xl7 radio says sys just replaced

if the battery in car goes dead, on a stock car and stock radio, most newer cars, the RADIO bricks.
the Radio dummies UP,
and displays
CODE
Pass word
or radio replaced. (means all power lost)
first off you need to stop plugging in things into the cig lighter that was never meant to be.

changer, what charger.?
CELL phone charger (ok)?
or cars battery chargers via CIG (bad idea)
most cars have a 15amp fuse here
if you exceed 15amps it blows, that is what you did.
It is to stop fires, wires burning up. (facts)
here is the math. (parked)
v12x15a = 180watts.
not much , so if you exceed that, the fuse blows.
if engine is running 220watts. max.
other things that blow this fuse are.
space heaters.
120vAC Inverters.
This CIG jack is for chargihg a CELL phone
some cell phone changers can fail and short
and guess what , that is what the fuse is for.
just that event.

the radio needs 2 power feeds, (not counting lamp dimmers)
main power
and memory.

if you brick the radio (asks for secret code to play)
here is 1 online place that helps. to solve that riddle.

Disconnected battery on my 2004 Saturn Ion to replace the starter and activated the radio theft deterrent feature. Pressed radio button 1 and 2 and the code 2566 appeared. I called my local GM dealer and...

Unfortunatly, unless you have it written down in the owners manual that's where you have to go. I think a personal appearance might help your cause. But GM charges unless you go dirrctly to parts and ask for the manager.

Google it. You should be able to find the code for it on Google. Type this: 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Radio Codes and hit ENTER. Do not click on the buttons under the seach bar - this will provide better results.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I need the unlock code for a 01 oldsmobile alero raido.

These damn things always ask for the unlock code when you change out the battery.  Its a pain in the as. Call the manufacturer and give them your VIN and year and they should be able to give you a generic # to use, but sometimes they want you to pull the radio and give them the #s off of the back of the radio.

Prelude manual trans markings

U are right about the fact u got taken, it may be that the cross reference the seller used was incorrect, but in any event make him take it back and refund shipping as well or have him send the correct trans with a pre paid freight return label to ship th old one back. did u pay with paypal? if so file a dispute with them. I recently bought a set of wheels and tires, they where not as described, I filed a complaint with paypal and the seller bent over backwards to make it Right.

Radio/cd player 2001 honda prelude shows "error."

Look in your owner manuel for a radio code, should be a 5 diget code. If you try to put wrong numbers in the stereo more than three or four times the radio will lock up. If you can't find the code call the dealer with the vin# and they should be able to tell you over thier computer. Another way to find the code is hold number 1 and 6 at the same time for 10 seconds and it will bring up a code that you will have to right down, that code will get your password for your stereo when you call the Honda Dealer. If your stereo does lock up just take your battery cables off and hold the red and black one together for 30 seconds and this will reset your radio.

Radio code for honda prelude

The code should be on top of your radio, the only thing you got to do is remove the plastic that goes around the AC controls and stereo. You can either unscrew the radio it self or the AC controls. I have done this a few times just because I misplace the code and of course I have to remove the battery cable to perform certain jobs.
