When you have a service engine light it means the computer of your vehicle has detected a problem. The easiest and simplest thing to do is to go to your local parts store and most of them will hook up their computer to your vehicle and they will pull or read your codes for you free. Post the codes they find on here and we can help you diagnose your problem or lead you in the right direction for a repair. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_6fdf388d6b3d4bfd81549c470e2bf97b(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

97 Sebring Convertible. engine cuts out and wont go over 100kph causing the car to does the same when coasting downhill at the same speed.

The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms

'90 Grand Am ,cuts out sometimes ,while droving,re-starts most of the time, but sometimes dont.Other times, while sitting a day ,wont starrt at all, although, engin cranks good

Sounds like you have a fuel flow problem. Replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pump pressure.

I would suspect the fuel pump or bad gas if it seemed to run good on the flats and downhill but then cuts out going up a sizeable hill.

While driving the truck it starts to cut back on speed. Whenever I give it more gas the rpm raises and the speed still decreases gradually going on an incline but not downhill.

Your transmission is not staying engaged and won't least a week like that
Get it to a trans repair shop, and don't use it until resolved

Check engine light stays on at all time seems to cut out fuel when you want to go fast

There is a fuel cutoff set by the cars computer that limits the RPM's of the engine to prevent engine damage. If its cutting out below say 5000 rpm, then theres a problem. The check engine light being on steady means one of the sensors detected something the computer doesnt like. Get the car to a good mechanic to scan the light and retrieve the trouble code. That will tell you what the problem is. Some auto parts stores, like Auto Zone, will scan the light for free.

Mercedes c220 wont start

Did you mean oil light ?
If so.... have you checked your engine oil level ?

If this is a diesel, perhaps you mean the cold start glow plugs light ?

If this light does not go out, the problem is in this department, normally fuse or the relay.
If it is really cold, this is why the engine will not start, as the glow plugs are not functioning.

Good Luck !

Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating, almost a Guru !
