Fuse, relay switch, or maybe a bad pump.

I have1999 5.3 chevy pickup has no fuel pressure i checked pump it works with a battery i checked all fuses and relays

If the fuel pump is coming on,it does not mean it is pumping,if it is pumping when you test it,check power to the relay, and power from the relay, this would be the only reason for it not working unless there is a wire not making connection from the relay to the pump,or from the ecm to the relay, check to see if there is a short activation from the relay when turning the ignition switch on,then the relay will cut off on it`s own.

Where is the fuel pump on a 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Easier to replace when it is at a quarter tank or less.Be very careful around gas and fumes.

Fuel pump

There is a test wire up by the fuel pump relay. If you put power to it, you can hear the pump running.

Hello Johnholley
I am wondering do you hear the fuel pump when you just turn the key into the on run position not crank just in run and listen and see if you hear the fuel pump run for a second, If you don't hear it you will want to check for power at the fuel tank, and have some one cycle the key while your under the truck with a test light. Hopefully you have power and you hear the fuel pump run. Now if you do hear the fuel pump running then the next thing you will want to check is for spark, It could be the ignition module or pickup coil. check out those thing and I am sure you will be able to figure out whats going on. If you don't get back to me and we can try a few other methods. I sure hope that helps you out johnholley. and thanks for using Fix Ya Bear001
