There are 4 bed bolts under the bed on each side that need removed, also 1 bolt on each side for the ground for the tail lights, and 3 screws in gas door for the filler neck. And then get a couple buddies to help lift off the bed or use tie-down straps and an engine lift and lift the bed off.
Thank you and good luck,
Lee

In most cases no. But you have to loosen the engine enough to raise it up enough to get clearance to remove the oil pan.

Where is fuel pump located on 1992 GMC Sonoma?

The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. To change the fuel pump, either the fuel tank must be removed, or the bed of the truck must be removed.

I have a 1999 sonoma no power to fuel pump and we get spar from coil but none comming out of the dis. cap.

It is a lot faster to take out the 8 15mm bolt's 4 on each side of the bed and slide the bed back.it does not have to come all the way off.the pump is located right at the back of the cab.Verses dropping the tank. However you will need an
extra hand lifting the bed and getting the filler neck out of the way.hope this helps you out.

You will need to lift up the bed of the car to access to the tank and remove the fuel pump. You need to remove the fuel tankfirst, than undo the bed bolts on the left side and loosen the bolts on the right side almost completely, then unbolt the filler neck and access to fuel pump.
