Question about 2002 Volvo S60
My problem is:
my car sputters. As long as stay on the gas it runs. when I release the gas it sputters then dies.
all of my lights on my dashboard are ON.
I took it to a mechanic. He says that his machine finds nothing wrong with it. Still the lights are on.
When I start it first thing in the morning, it starts.
After an hour or so of driving, it starts to sputter but doen't die.
It is when I kill the engine and try restarting it is when the sputtering begins. So, I only leave home and return. I do not start it until the morning....
Solution #2 is correct,i had mine done about two weeks ago,go to the dealer if you are under 200.000k you would not have to pay for it ,its a recall part

There is a 200,000 Mile Warranty on the Electronic Throttle Control. All you need is a system upgrade at your local dealership. Once this is done, the problem will cease to exist. I have an S60 T5 (2001), which had the same problem, but after the upgrade, it's humming like a baby. Go to the dealership for this free upgrade. Good luck! Michael

I had a similar problem.
At a cold start the rpm would come up normally then slowly drop then stall out. Car would stall at lights and stop signs. My mechanic after having for 3 days found a faulty cam sensor.
