Question about 2002 Acura 3.2TL

My code reader is giving me 2 codes that I can't find. one is P1399 and the other one says cylinder 2 misfire. which one is cylinder 2? the car sounds like it's got a really bad miss.

P1399 for Acura is a random misfire possibly caused by a bad Oxygen sensor.

Cyl. 2 misfire points to either an injector not firing or the spark plug not firing on that cylinder.

Testing The easiest way to test the operation of the fuel injectors is to listen for a clicking sound coming from the injectors while the engine is running. This is accomplished using a mechanic's stethoscope, or a long screwdriver. Place the end of the stethoscope or the screwdriver (tip end, not handle) onto the body of the injector. Place the ear pieces of the stethoscope in your ears, or if using a screwdriver, place your ear on top of the handle. An audible clicking noise should be heard; this is the solenoid operating. If the injector makes this noise, the injector driver circuit and computer are operating as designed. Continue testing all the injectors this way.
CAUTION
Be extremely careful while working on an operating engine, make sure you have no dangling jewelry, extremely loose clothes, power tool cords or other items that might get caught in a moving part of the engine.
All Injectors Clicking If all the injectors are clicking, but you have determined that the fuel system is the cause of your driveability problem, continue diagnostics. Make sure that you have checked fuel pump pressure as outlined. An easy way to determine a weak or unproductive cylinder is a cylinder drop test. This is accomplished by removing one spark plug wire at a time, and seeing which cylinder causes the least difference in the idle. The one that causes the least change is the weak cylinder.
If the injectors were all clicking and the ignition system is functioning properly, remove the injector of the suspect cylinder and bench test it. This is accomplished by checking for a spray pattern from the injector itself. Install a fuel supply line to the injector (or rail if the injector is left attached to the rail) and momentarily apply 12 volts DC and a ground to the injector itself; a visible fuel spray should appear. If no spray is achieved, replace the injector and check the running condition of the engine.

Plug the correct "noid" light directly into the injector harness connector 91055p02.jpg

If the correct "noid" light flashes while the engine is running, the injector driver circuit inside themy code reader is giving - 91055p03.jpging 91055p03.jpg

If one or more injectors are found to be not operating, testing the injector driver circuit and computer can be accomplished using a "noid" light. First, with the engine not running and the ignition key in the OFF position, remove the connector from the injector you plan to test, then plug the "noid" light tool into the injector connector. Start the engine and the "noid" light should flash, signaling that the injector driver circuit is working. If the "noid" light flashes, but the injector does not click when plugged in, test the injector's resistance.
If the "noid" light does not flash, the injector driver circuit is faulty. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Unplug the "noid" light from the injector connector and also unplug the PCM. Check the harness between the appropriate pins on the harness side of the PCM connector and the injector connector. Resistance should be less than 5.0 ohms; if not, repair the circuit. If resistance is within specifications, the injector driver inside the PCM is faulty and replacement of the PCM will be necessary.

po301 to po304 are miss fire codes, 301 cylinder 1, 302 cylinder 2 Etc, p1399 means that this must be a Honda manufactured vehicle. All are misfire codes, Could be plugs, wires, coils. ETC, Check and you will find the problem. God-Bless!

I would say that you have damage to the ignition wiring harness or you ECM is failing.

Trouble Code p0420 and p1399


code po420 refers to cat converter system bank1 - efficiency below threshold===causes -- cat converter---wiring---HO2S 2
code p1399 refers to cylinder no 6 misfire===causes --fuel/ ignition---VTEC system---MAP sensor--wiring---mechanical fault.

Check engine light on and was reading a p0505 code drove to the store and engine like started blinking got home hooked the code reader and now have another code of p0309 and p1399


Code 505 is a problem with the idle air control valve.
Code 309 is noting a cylinder 9 missfire on engines with 10 cylinders which would not include yours. That may be a fluke or not the right number.
Code p1399 is brand specific and for Honda it usually means random miss.
The code 505 could be the idle control valve or a vac leak. The computer can not control idle speed by using the valve.
The miss codes mean the cylinders are not producing power when they should be. Which may or may not be ignition. It could also be fuel or mechanical problems.
If you have not replaced the plugs and done the usual maintenance stuff in the past year or two, I would start with the basics.
Be sure and look at the inside of the dist cap and rotor.

All these codes indicate you have a misfire on cylinder number 5.
P1399/P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0305 - Cylinder #5 Misfire Detected

Causes:
- Improper spark plug at cylinder #5
- Insufficient compression at cylinder #5
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- The injector circuit is open or shorted at cylinder #5
- Fuel injector #5 may be faulty
- Intake air leak at cylinder head

Solutions:
- Perform Injector Service
- Replace Spark Plug #5
- Replace Injector #5
- Replace Ignition Coil #5

P1399- Manufactures control Ignition system OR Misfire

If only one of your cylinders was misfiring, you probably would be getting a more specific code than P1399.
Also check the distributor rotor along with the cap and coils and wires; the EGR valve to make sure it doesn't leak; your fuel pressure which can cause random misfires if the pressure is too low; and injectors if they are really dirty. If you have really high mileage, I probably would first just change out the plug wires with a new set, then reset the DTC and see if the code comes back.

2000 honda crv p1399 and p0301 check engine codes


Code P1399 is specific to Honda - it is an error code for "multiple variable misfires detected". P0301-P0304 are common OBDC codes for all cars, specifically "misfire in cylinder X".

You will get the P0301-P0304 codes on your OBDC reader when you plug it in (if actually errors), but will only find the P1399 if you select Honda as the manufacturer.

Just got these errors today on my CRV 2000. Now I have to figure out what is causing two of the cylinders to misfire.

P1399- Acura = Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

Acura forums state that It could be a coil pack or O2 sensor, or EGR.
