Question about 2005 Toyota Highlander

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Toyota Highlander V6 2WD. The car is due for a service (90K). The dealer quoted $340.00 for the service and suggested replacement of the timing belt for an additional $400. 1. Doesn't a major service typically include replacement of the belt (pricing seems too high) 2. would it be stupid to pass on the replacement (money is tight)

I guess all services you need is replacement of filters, Oil, spark plugs if not recently changed
Belt replacement is worth at 90K, but price is too high! check this link: http://shop.autopartsfair.com/store/?N=11801+4294962486+1725+9318
it requires one hour work! or even less
other than this, if you have a service light on, either remove battery pole for a while to reset it, or ignore it and will disappear wft. some time!!!

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You may be able to get a user manual at Toyota's website or ask for one at you local dealer. Or, if you've ever had the vehicle service, the facility that serviced it should have a manual with the info you want.

2005 toyota highlander, what is the correct tire pressure? Cannot get the air pressure light out after pressing the reset button. What do you suggest. I put 32 lbs of air in the tires

Look on the end of the drivers door or door jam for a sticker that should list the pressures and tire size. I had air removed from my tires and installed nitrogen. It keeps the right level better and doesn't cause the sensors to go bad like air can. $5 a tire at most tire dealers.

Does 2005 toyota highlander require timing belt replacement? When?

check you owners manual most of the car will due about 70k to 80k to be safe newer car uses a timing belt which is rubber and will worn out in longer miles make sure have this change before its due or will mess-up your engine and too costly to repair.

Your guy is flat-out lying to you.

The part you need is Part Number 47721-48060, and it costs about $105.00

700 dollars. How ridiculous.

Toyota Highlander Catalytic Converter

You should have the Catalytic Converter replaced at a muffler shop, not a dealer.
Then if you still have a problem have the dealer replace the computer(if it was a recall, it will be free)
