This is a problem with the ignition switch, it thinks the key is still in the ignition, the internal switch may be stuck , start by spraying a little silicone into key hole then put key in and start car then remove key, do this a few times and spray a few times but just a little spray. hope this helps.

You probably have a faulty door lock solenoid/assembly - this will cause all locks to release if locks cannot close correctly on locking instruction. Careful inspection around the doors may indicate by noise when locking - which lock may be faulty. Also watch the lock tabs on the internal handle's as these move when locking and are a good indicator of locks movement.
Good Luck - hope this helps.

I tried to program a new fob for a 1999 Altima. And nothing worked

1.   Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.

2.   Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.

3.   Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.

4.   Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.

5.   If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).

6.   Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.

Make sure you have the right fob for your car.

How to get into programming mode to program a remote?

Few Toyota models came equipped with remote door locks before 2008 - surprisingly!

Your car may not have the radio receiver to work with door locks. In that case, you need the radio and some wireing to pair with your remotes.

Random door locking

theres 1 thing I can think of, if you put your key in the door 2 unlock it and hold the key 2 the unlock position for a few seconds all the doors should unlock, well the electronics inside the door panel that control that is probably bad or shorting out causing the doors to lock . You can also hold the key 2 the lock position for a few seconds and lock all the doors

When I press the power door lock button, the only door that will open is the driver's door. The other three doors remain locked

you have to press the unlock button twice, the first push opens the drivers door, the second unlocks the rest of the doors.

2002 pontiac grand prix - power door locks

I do believe the 3 beeps are telling you that you are about to lock your doors. Additonally that should signal you that have your keys in hand before you locks your keys inside the car. It's just an aural warning reminder that your doors are about to be locked.

Rear door wont lock or unlock with power

This can be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, though sometimes the catch sticks (pry off the LR badge, squirt with WD40 and work it a few times to fix that). Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. It does require a complete strip down of the door, and will need the lock unit, trim panel clips, and a trim removal tool. Clips are a few quid, the tool's usually around a tenner.
For the rear door, this is slightly easier due to the lack of moveable glass, so you just need to get the rear panel off including sub and open it.
Try clicking unlock on your fob while pulling the latch inside. This may pop it open at the crucial point. If you put the child lock on, you're stuffed! I saw one at a breakers yard where they had to use a disc cutter to get the door open.

Battery died now power sliding doors and rear hatch not operating

1) Unlock all doors from driver's door while it is open. The driver's door is the only door to remain open during this process! 2) Turn the key from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in RUN. All the doors will lock and unlock if program is successful. 3) Turn key OFF and remove key from ignition. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the remote. (Press sliding door or rear hatch and it will open!) 4) If door locks do not respond, wait several seconds and press button again. If doors still fail to respond, try repeating steps (1-3).
