Sounds like you have problems with the turbo as thee is a bearing there and you said it starts rattling once the turbo kicks in. There is one other thing, you may have internal engine damage as like you said, only 500 miles and some of that was racing. May not have been broken in properly. I know I was told you need to break an engine in for 500 - 1000 miles then change the oil. I hope this is not the case for you though.

I had the rear end rebuilt on a 2006 F-150 5.4 FX4 and it hums during acceleration and deceleration, how do i quiet this noise?

Take it back to the mechanic that rebuilt it the gear set up is wrong and that is what causes the howl.

I have a 1994 Isuzu Trooper (3.2 L V6 DOHC) with 180,000 miles on it. Recently, the engine has developed a ticking in the lower end, as well as low oil pressure ( at idle around 5 to 10 psi). Recently the...

It appears that the main bearings are failing, as well as the rods bearings and maybe a wrist pin too.

In other words, it's worn out.

If you still like the vehicle and want to keep it, a warrantied used engine is probably the best solution.

Check at for a local source of possible engine swaps.

Tapping noise when first cranked

The Nissan motor that came as a V6 will rattle on start up if it has the wrong oil filter on it or the wrong oil or oil that needs changed badly 10-40 resists rattle better than 5-30 and works good in motors that have some miles on them. Does the oil light go out right away when the motor starts? Change the oil first with the right oil filter before you try anything else.
