Battery was disconnected from car. and now the radio does not work and is asking for a code to be entered in order to be able to use the radio again

  1. Try looking into the service manual. If you are the original owner of the card there should be something that looks like a white credit card. It will contain the serial number and code for the stereo.
  2. Check on the sides of the glove compartment box (the part you pull down). There may be sticker with the code on it.
  3. Pull the ash tray out and look on the bottom of it.
  4. It may be located on the door itself (the part hidden when you close the door).

Geo radio info....Text test; I was not able to type in any info due to an error message I was receiving on the other site, so I am answering on this old posting you have also. "Invalid text" error message was displayed, and I was only able to post a period character, not words. Not sure why this is happening.

Removal; Open the glove box and remove the glove box panel
Remove the air conditioning switch connector and heater control leber knobs.
Pull heater control unit cover from the instrument panel.
Remove the gear shift control lever upper boot and center console.
Remove the ash tray.
Remove the instrument panel center trim bezel and radio face plate.
Remove the screw from the back of the radio eceiver and the screws from the front face of the radio.
Remove the radio.

Reverse procedure for installation.

I have a 1995 honda accord and its a good car but my radio doesnt want to work when i turn it on it says code i hope this is a minor fix

When the battery goes dead or the radio is removed,it automatically locks so that any thief finds it useless, and hopefully decides not to steal any more of them.there is a 5 digit code to unlock it but you can only get it from a Honda dealer. They will remove the radio, write down the serial number and submit it to Honda who will give them the access code.Since they have to take a fair amount of dash apart, expect $80-$ 100 for this repair.Look for a small white sticker, 1/2 X 1 1/2 with 5 numbers on it.many new car techs put a spare sticker in the car when new, usually on the side of the glove box,on the ash tray bottom(pull it out to look)or on the passenger side outer face of the glove box...where it isn't usually noticed...good luck hope you find it

How do i remove the radio from the dash 1998 hyundai accent

You have to take out the ash tray, and remove those two screws, then pop out the center dash trim. Careful, though, you have to take out a lot of the wiring inside of your center dash trim in order to pull it out for enough room to move the radio in and out.
OR more elaborately try the following:-
1. Remove the panel under the steering wheel. There should be four bolts - the two at the top are covered with plastic caps. When you have removed the panel, take off the two climate control cables that run to the air controls on the dashboard. They should be secured with clips which need to come off, and the wire centre is wound around a small control knob which should have a push in clip so the wire can slip off.
2. Make the glove box drop down by removing the two plastic clips at the back of the inside of the glove box. These clips are the glove-box buffer stops and should spring off and can be pulled through the clip-opening. Behind the glove-box is another wire to un-clip, but this one slips straight off the metal control actuator.
3. Remove the ash-tray by pressing the spring loaded metal part down and take the two screws out at the back of the ash-tray. You should now be able to unclip the central dashboard. Use a screwdriver to lever it away gently, and watch for the small metal clips that drop out as you do so. As you pull it away the cables you unclipped will come away from their place and come out with the dash unit.
4. After pulling the dash-board out a few inches you should be able to see the seating screws for the radio. Take all the screws out and pull the radio forward. By unclipping the cables at the top of the unit you will find you have enough play to pull the driver's side right forward and jigger the head unit out of the gap on one side of the unit.

Turn signals stopped working need to change flasher unit. Where is it?

on mine it was between the glove box and ash tray, behind the fuse box, you may be able to take the ash tray out and unbolt the ash tray metal housing and it will be there to the right,or remove the glove box to get at it.

I need to know how to remove the radio form a

Remove center glove box if applicable, remove shifter ring from wood, remove center console wood (2 screws and pull up off the switches and pull out), remove ash tray (2 screws), pull face off of unit by reaching in tape deck area and pull, around the deck you should see a couple of plastic clips push on those and pull the unit out.

Radio locked in 2002 chrysler 300

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive
