I do not have a Dodge Stratus, however, I have owned more than 20 vehicles. None of them had a drain plug for the transmission. The reason for this is transmission oil is normally good for many many miles. When it is time to change it, the manufacturer wants you to remove the oil pan, clean it, change the filter and adjust the bands as may be necessary. No oil plug means you have to remove the pan + there is never a leak as a result of no plug.
what filter are you talking about? Its always recommended to change your filters, oil filter with your oil change it collects all the **** same with your fuel filter it gets clogged up and you get better gas mileage with a clean filter.
could your driving habits have changed? or its in need of a major tune up like new air filter new spark plugs, pcv valve ,new plug wires ,an oil change and a fuel filter.
