Drain plug for transmission on a 4 cyl dodge stratus automatic 2001

I do not have a Dodge Stratus, however, I have owned more than 20 vehicles. None of them had a drain plug for the transmission. The reason for this is transmission oil is normally good for many many miles. When it is time to change it, the manufacturer wants you to remove the oil pan, clean it, change the filter and adjust the bands as may be necessary. No oil plug means you have to remove the pan + there is never a leak as a result of no plug.

Instead of changing the filter, is there a drain plug on my 2004 dodge stratus 2.4l 16 valve???

what filter are you talking about? Its always recommended to change your filters, oil filter with your oil change it collects all the **** same with your fuel filter it gets clogged up and you get better gas mileage with a clean filter.

Location of oil drain plug

On the bottom of the oil pan. If this vehicle has a 2.7; you will also notice the oil filter right by the pan as well.

Oil plg on 2004 dodge stratus

The oil plug is located on the rear side of the oil pan, which is on the bottom side of the engine.

It is located very near to the oil filter on the rear of the oil pan, toward the passenger side.
