To be sure that the sending unit is bad,you need to locate the fuel pump connector and make some tests, first find a wiring diagram and see if the sending unit sends ground to the gage, idientified the cable and put ground or power depending what it works whit and see if the gage moves correctly if it does change the sending unit.If you had tell me what car are you talking where more helpfull for me to give you more accurate information.

Temperature guage is climbing. No warning messages. How do I know what is causing it to climb?

Check the coolant level for your engine. Look at the plastic bottle under the hood and make sure the level is where it should be (at "cold" if you haven't driven the care or "hot" if you've just stopped driving it). If it's low -- or there's fluid in the bottle -- refill it to the proper level.

However, this car should still be under warranty, so your easiest solution is to take it back to the dealer and have them look at it.

Why do my gas needle go from low fuel light on to exactly how much gas I have in the tank?

I'm not sure I am understanding your question. The low Fuel indicator light comes on, depending on how sensitive it is set, when you have between 2 and 5 gallons of gas left in the tank. This also depends on how accurate your fuel level sending unit is reading the fuel level in the tank. The low fuel level light depends on the level of fuel in the tank itself but other than using that sensor it has nothing to do with the fuel gauge itself. The fuel gauge may or may not be accurately showing the fuel level.

I have had this problem. I was told that the gas gauge sensor is floating. You have to let it settle for a lil bit, on a flat parking surface. Also, shut the car off when filling up, sometimes it'll say it has more fuel in it than it really does when it's running.

Hi it sounds like you have picked up some dirty fuel,
what you need to do now is go to your nearest garage or car spares shop and buy some decent fuel line cleaner, Red X is a good brand to buy, make sure you buy correct type for your engine ie petrol or diesel the follow instructions on the back of the bottle

how ever.
it will say pour this into a full tank of fuel, dont do this pour it into half a tank of fuel doing this makes it work a lot quicker and cleans a lot better once you have poured it in it will take about an hour to clean all the fuel lines and injectors and doing this should turn the warning light off. you could also get the fuel filter changed just to make sure it is not blocked in any way.

the fuel line cleaner will clean the whole fuel line and all the injectors it will make your car run perfect and it increases mpg, its a good idea to use this product every couple of months on vehicles of your age as it keeps them running properly and cuts down and buying spare parts such as injectors due to them being blocked.

have a go with the product and if you have any problems after just give me a shout back ok.

plz dont forget to rate as i have a long list of posts that people have not rated and its filling up my page,

let me know if you need further assistance

My 1994 Mercedes c220's fuel gauge stopped working

Fuel level sensor is in the gas tank, may be faulty or just dirty, make sure to fill the tank entirely full with premium unleaded, ad a high quality fuel system cleaner / de-gunker, this may clean the sensor enough to feed back to the gauge. It could also be the fuel gauge itself, but that is less likely. Mercedes will be happier with at least 1/4 tank of fuel at all times, and don't skimp on low octane gas!
As for the check engine light, you may have a bad gas cap... believe it or not a gas cap that doesn't seal properly will throw the check engine light. If you get the codes read (for free) at an Autozone or similar parts store it will likely read "evap system" as the problem, which will likely end up being the gas cap.
Take your car to a service center that does a true "flush and fill" of your a/c system. Those little canisters will just waste your money, and they never truly clean and re-lubricate the system like a flush and fill will do.

Take the truck to an Autozone parts store, they might do it other parts stores too, they can read the codes in the computer and let you know what's going on. There sholud be a code stored even though the light is off. I don't know why the fuel level would cause the light to come on.

If you tank has gas and your guage doesn't read the gas, then the sending unit is bad or relay or fuse for sending unit is bad.
