    Thanks e-Guru,

Unfortunately that doesn't work - I removed the fuse as directed and left it unplugged for over 20 minutes then re-inseted it and found that nothing had changed I am still getting the "Error 4" message on the CD player and none of the CD function buttons have eny effect of unblocking the problem. Any other suggestions??

Unfortunately e-Guru's suggestion to fix the probelem didn't work. Can any other expert help please.

Thanks to e-Guru, His solution to resolving the CD player issue worked by fiddling with the gate to get it to open. (I used a CD cardborad sleeve and inserted it to free up the discs inside) Now working many thanks.

I can't locate the fuse on the left hand side below the steering column for the power sockets in the drivers cup and the boot. I checked that both outlets were not working and they weren't - so it must be the fuse - I will find it.

Greatly appreciated. Excellent advise please give my thanks to e-Guru.

    Regards,

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com.

Open the fuse box under the hood. Find the audio fuse. Pull it out for 2 -10 minutes to reset the CD player. Now plug it back. If this does not work just change the fuse. Your problem will be solved.

Please get back to us if you have any further query.

Have a nice day.

THE POWER OUTLET fuse is a 15 amp fuse located in the instrument panel fuse block.which should be below steering column to left. this fuse powers the two power outlets front one and rear one. cig lighter has a different fuse. if fuse is good check your rear outlet see if it gets power if so the problem is in the outlet itself if not it is a power supply problem. as far as your cd changer it is molst likely an internal failure in unit. you should be able to get door open if not then magazine may be jammed. just try and fiddle with door and see if you can "convince" it to open

No power to cigarette lighter,2011 lexus es 350. checked fuses ,they are ok.

Use a D C tester and check for voltage it could be a bad lighter. if that dose not work take your voltage tester and put one lead in the lighter hole on the center and ground the other lead to the metal on the car check for voltage. You may have a bad ground.

According to the parts book, it uses a $300 shift cable assembly. Have you tried shifting the transmission arm with the cable disconnected ?

My lighter doesnt work, i have two and one doesnt work

There are actually FIVE cigarette lighter/ Auxilliary Power Outlets shown in the wiring diagrams for your vehicle.
The Instrument Panel [1] Accessory Power Outlet (Cigarette Lighter) is protected by the "LTR" Fuse (# 53 - 20 Amp) in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment.

The Instrument Panel [2] Accessory Power Outlet is protected by the "AUX PWR" Fuse (20 Amp) In the Instrument Panel Fuse Block on the left side of the dash.

The Center Seat Accessory Power Outlet and the (two) Center Console Power Outlets are protected by the "AUX PWR 2" Fuse (20 Amp) In the Instrument Panel Fuse Block on the left side of the dash. NOTE: If your vehicle is not equipped with the Center Seat Accessory Power Outlet, or the Custom Floor Console (optional), this fuse position will most likely be empty.

My vibe 2004 doesn`t start sometimes since I start using fm transmitter powered by cigarette lighter outlet. When I start,i hear a little click but starter doesn`t come on. After waiting for 20 to 30mn or...

it could be the the starter solenoid or starter itself that is the problem.you said it started when you started using your fm transmitter have you tried not using it to see if it starts working correctly for a few days.if it works normally then this is the problem.try another outlet if you have one to see if the problem starts again.

I try to find cigarette filter to replace the filter because my cigarette lighter doesn't work ( Toyota Camary LE 2000). I couldn't find it Thank you Somsak

Do you mean that you are looking for the fuse? The fuse for the cigarette lighter is located in the fuse block under the left side of the dash. it is marked "CIG". It is a 15 Amp fuse

NOTE: This fuse also powers your clock, air bag sensor assembly, remote control mirror switch and your shift lock. If this fuse is blown, you will also have problems with these items.

Your vehicle is also equipped with an auxilliary power outlet (Which looks the same as the cigarette lighter socket) it is powered by the fuse marked "*1" If this fuse is blown, only the power outlet will not work. This also is a 15 Amp fuse. (See picture below)

Lexus rx300 2002 hard shift between 1st and 2nd. Fluid and filter changed 3000mi ago, car has 93000mi

The 1999-2003 Lexus RX300 models have a common failure of the engine computer that causes the harsh shifting of the transmission. You need to get the computer (ECM - Engine Control Module) rebuilt or replaced before it causes permanent damage to the transmission. Even if the transmission is already ruined, the ECM will still need to be repaired. Most often, the transmission is fine though, and rebuilding the ECM will restore the smooth shifts that the Lexus should have. Circuit Board Medics can rebuild the ECM and reprogram it so that you only have to plug it back in when you get it back. See the link below:

Do I need to replace the front power outlet on 2002 Lexus RX300?

I assume you are talking about the cigarette lighters?

These are both normally on the same circuit. It sounds like you have a loose wire on the front lighter. You would have to remove the assembly to check it.
