Question about 1993 Mercury Sable

1 Answer

We have a 1993 Mercury sable. After we turn the headlights and rear lights on, they start to flicker on and off. Same with the dashboard lights. Do we need to replace the bulbs? or is it a wiring problem or short?

If they all flicker then it has to be the wiring. All of these lights are controlled from the headlight switch. That would be my first part on the list to replace. It could also be the connector at the back of it is loose or has corrosion in the terminals.

Dash lights won't work

You may have a fuse or a circuit breaker failed.
Check fuses and circuit breakers both under the dashboard and also under the hood of the car to see if you can find a defective one.
If you have no luck, you may need to see and electrical expert mechanic.
God bless your efforts.

Instrument Cluster lights do not go on, emergency lights steady- Sable 2002

Has anyone figured this problem out? Our 2002 Sable just started this as well...instrument cluster lights out, turn/hazard lights on when the headlight switch is turned on. This has the auto on/off switch with fog lights. This is happening in the auto and manual on mode. Any solutions would be appreciated.<br />
