Is it normal for my 2012 subaru outback to have a loud popping/clunking sound after I am done driving it (shut the car off)? I Have heard it from my previous car as a cooling thing but this seems loud

run the fault codes as it may be an indication that the cat converter is running at an excessive temperature due to incorrect air/fuel mixture settings from the ECM

My auto isn't switching from A/C to heater. Someone said it might be the blender motor. What do you think?

First check to see if the compressor is turning. (It will probably cycle on and off. It should stay on ROUGHLY as much as it is off when it has run some; at first it should run and not cycle off for the first minute or so.) If it doesn't cycle as explained or if nothing but the pulley turns and not the front clutch face, have that fixed. The operation of the blender door is evident when the fan is on high, and you set it from hot to cold - you'll be able to hear that the sound of the air rushing through the ducting makes a different sound at each extreme of hot and cold. Check for that. If you can't hear any difference and your compressor is working well, have your blender looked at.

Loud noise from under the dash, ac/heater area. No cool air 97 li

If this noise is a clicking sound and is coming from the front center of the dash, then it may be the blender door motor which will require removal of the dash to replace it. It will keep the door from switching from heat to a/c. Does the odor smell like you have a freon leak in your a/c evaporator core or does it smell like a rat stuck in your heater and a/c ducts?

93 MX6 throttle body is Popping, loud, sounds like a diesel

Sounds like the pipe/connection from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve that is located at or near the throttle body has a leak. That would make a loud popping noise.

02 Durango: loud engine/exhaust sound. Also

Keep an eye on the coolant level, you might have a cracked engine block!!!
Watch for steam around Motor Block once the engine gets warm.

Could be the crank shaft. Had the same thing happen to me... kinda sounds like a spoon in the blender? Looking at $400 for part and labor if nothing else has been damaged. But if the crank shaft goes, your looking at another $20 for the belt too. Not too bad. Shouldn't keep letting it do that, eventually it'll snap off completely and your car won't go anywhere.
