the (P1273) refer to A\F SENSOR
that locate in the exhaust pipe
it was a sensor calculate the air to fuel ratio in the exhaust pipe and send that as electrical signal to the (ECU) that use it to correct the fuel injection timing in result to have economy of fuel and low bad gases in exhaust
the cause of this fault is :-
air fuel ratio sensor 1
air fuel ratio sensor 1 heater
fuel presser
fuel injectors
intake air leaks

Sensors do not always fix engines,if he replaced the o2 sensors, they most likely where not the problem,o2 sensors give messages of lean,or rich mixture ,most of the time.Have you tried to clean the upper intake, tuned it up with spark plugs(from a good auto parts, not auto zone ) boots for the coils, and a good fuel injection cleaner, like LUCAS fuel treatment, and new fuel ,and air filter,,?You may need to have the fuel injectors cleaned, with a machine, replace, and check all vacuums, check the mass air flow sensor also, these can all have an effect on the engine emmissions.

hi, most of the time when these lights come on, its because of some sort of sensor failure. if you are not experiencing any noises or tapping in the engine compartment, this is only a failed sensor. you will have to get it diagnosed by the computer to know what specific sensor it may be. i suspect maybe a O2 sensor or egr valve. this is minor but, you Will need to get this repaired if possible.

2005 nissan sentra check engine light

the blown head gasket most likely damaged the oxygen sensors, and this is the cause of the check engine light, have a Kragen auto or Auto zone do a trouble code test, it is free. the oxygen sensors will not cause anything but slight increase in fuel consumption and of course that irritating light in the dash..
