You can buy a Haynes or a Chilton manual from a local car parts store such as NAPA, Checker, or AutoZone or even a Fleet Farm which will be able to direct you to how to take it apart in the area with the noise.

A clunk sound you hear near the battery compartment is loose holding of the spare part maybe the bracing holding of the alternator, you better checked and tighten the screw thier so clunking is gone.i dont have the manual go to a site and order thier.

Hi there!

It could be a fuel pump pressure unloading after a time out.

Information can be found from Haynes

The runners should be available from A main dealership if you contact your local one, they should be able to assist.

How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN You would need a professional scan tool to scan all the modules on the vehicle . You mite be better off taking this to the dealer .

Nissan pathfinder 1995 model SUV, when i try to start it its making a whinning noise then i hear a hard clucking sound and the whinning goes away without the car starting

Does the engine crank at all ?
The low whine could be the starter turning but not engaging the flywheel.
The clunk could be when the bendix gear on the starter makes contact with the flywheel.
If the starter does not have enough voltage, the solenoid or bendix may not engage. Even tho you replaced both the starter and battery, there could be a problem with the cables or the ground connection.

Rear-end makes a slight whining noise

Could be a couple of things. Without knowing the mileage or the model of rear axle of the beast in question, I can only offer suggestions...
The differential on the rear axle may be on its way out, i.e. the ring and pinion gears are out of tolerance. They usually whine just before the mustard comes off the hotdog. A mechanic can check the backlash for you.
You could have a bearing going bad. This is somewhat easier to diagnose in your driveway by jacking the rear of the truck up until the rear tire just leaves the ground, and then picking up on the wheel by hand. In other words, try to shake it a bit. If there's any 'play', you probably have a bearing on it way out. Do this for BOTH sides.
My last suggestion would be to check the U-joints (universal) in your driveshaft. Crawl underneath and try to twist the driveshaft, push on it, pull on it, shake the heck out of it. If you have a U-joing going bad you will notice some obviously abnormal movement, and probably hear a clinking or clunking sound.

Trouble codes P0128, P0455 and U1041

P0128 is the coolant is below normal temperature.
P0455 is Evap system detects a large leak.
U1041 is communication was lost to brake control module.
It is weird that you are having these problems at the same time.
You may not have a problem in anyone of these systems. But again you may.I would suggest that you look into the battery, related wiring, connections, and the alternator. If the electronics are not getting enough voltage then you can have system failure.

Engine whines when put into gear. When you take

Sounds like you have a planetary gear whine. This is internal to the transmission and only engages when in gear. The only correction is t minimul, a soft rebuild of the transmission.

Power loss

I have had flickering dash lights and most of the time the whole car shuts down, we coast, and then it restarts itself!

I just traced wiring and found the main power cable from the battery almost burned through where it goes past a heat shielded tube on the engine. The braided fabric heat shield is burned through and the tube has bits of copper wire welded to it. I just taped it up and will test drive later. Check the main power wire where it leaves the battery and heads back past the engine.
