Seeing on how its been sitting I would look for moisture inside the distributor cap, common this time of year.

Need to know how to take plug off alternator

The positive wire is removed by prying up rubber boot & loosening nut underneath it. The harness is removed by pressing in on retaining clip & pulling out harness.

I'm sorry but, I've got to ask, are both the replacement battery and the alternator brand new?

Speedometer doesn't work after pulling dashboard apart

Check behind the dash to see if the speedometer drive cable was reattached. (mechanical, not electronic drive)

Turn signal flasher keeps blowing

This is more than likely caused by a Bad Turn Signal Switch Housing inside the Sterring column. The one that the Handle is attached to and Wraps around the Sterring Shaft on the Inside of the Column.

You probably need a tune up or timing might have been changed which would alter the rpms. Replacing the module can erquire moving the distridutor and it may not have been returned to the same position. I have experienced same problem.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but my son's truck was having the same thing's going on... fixed alot of the same things... still nothing. sometimes i could pump the **** out of it, and keep cranking, and it would fire for a moment and then die. Some times it would start and run til it got warmed up, and then either run like ****, or just die went down to Schucks and had them test the alternator, and they said it was good... tried a few other things, and then gave up, and it sat for several months. Was talking to a different guy at Schucks again one day and he said that he thought that he remembered there being some kiind of a problem with the alternators in the same year frame... so I went back to the house, pulled the alternator out (truck wasn't running) and had them test it again... sure as **** it was weak... bought new one threw it in, and the trucks been running every since... reason for long story? I was told everything else under the sun to replace, but this was what was wrong.
