The LED screen on my CD/radio was also very dim. Dealer replaced the radio under warranty. Must be a common problem with the 2003 Accord

I had the same problem on my 2003 Accord. It was five years old, with over 60,000 miles. I called the dealership. "Do you have an extended warranty?" they asked. "No," I said. "Bring it in," they said. "Honda has a warranty." I took it in.

Dealership pulled the whole thing out and installed a circuit board. Problem fixed. Cost: $0. Time elapsed: three hours or so.

My garage (I only go to the dealer under duress) told me that that isn't the only unpublicized warranty. Automatic transmissions also have a warranty.

If you check Consumer Reports' reliability records, you'll see a big black dot for the '03 automatic transmission. Same goes for audio center. Both apparently are warranted. You might have to insist, although the dealer was forthcoming in my case.

Mine also went dim after a 1 1/2 years and Honda Canada replaced the whole radio. I did also receive a letter from Honda that extended ths warranty for a full 7 years so you be able to replace the radio for free but not sure if your dealer will charge for labour.

Mine went dim and it needed to be replaced. Everything still worked, but I couldn't see anything during the day and just faintly during the night. Hopefully it's still under warranty or it's going to be expensive :/

Tra to go to your player menu (there's got to be some button or something) and there you can change the display options.

I have seen issues like this on other Honda's and the problem turned out to be the ignition starter switch. Do this, jumper power directly to the starter solenoid trigger wire and see if the engine cranks.

Lights went dim, car sputtered and battery died - got new battery and ran well for 2 day then sam thing happened - is that an alternator issue? just had it replaced 18 mos ago. (1990 honda accord dx)

yes it is a alternator issue. replace with a quality unit a you will get more life out of it. if you stick with autozone or kragen parts, they will last a little while but they usually have a lifetime warranty. so its really up to you as to which level of hassle you wish to conquer, money or labor. happy holidays

Lights are dim in the clock and cd panel i can barely read the time.

This is so at day time.
Some cars have adjustable dasboard illumination.
Find that knob. Additional resitance buit up in the system can cause this as well , clean connectors, etc. Or you replaced a comonent with a wrong value.
