Check engine p1005 Chrysler 300 2.7 show pic of part thanks

I do not own one of these cars so I cannot provide a picture. The valve you want is at the opening of the intake manifold. Follow the intake tube from the air filter housing to the manifold. just after it connects behind the throttle assembly is the tuning valve.

Re-Install is basically the same procedure just reversed.
  1. Connect the EGR tube, PCV, Purge and power brake booster vacuum hoses to the intake manifold.

I NEED TO REMOVE THE EGR VALVE

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve does just what the name implies: it diverts some exhau st gases back into the intake system at low engine speeds. This lowers combustion temperature to reduce NOx levels. It also reduces throttle response and bottom-end power.
Disabling the EGR valve is easy. Locate the valve and the EGR vacuum modulator valve (two gold-colored metal stampings, usually at the rear of the engine). The EGR valve has steel lines leading to it from the exhaust manifold. The EGR vacuum modulator has two vacuum lines between it and the intake manifold and a third vacuum (soft) line between the modulator and the EGR valve itself.
EGR Vacuum Modulator
EGR valve (arrow) is shown adjacent tosimilar EGR vacuum modulator valve. EGR valve is connected to exhaust manifold with steel lines. Modulator has vacuum lines only.
Disconnect the vacuum line between the valve and modulator and place any solid object of appropriate size (dowel, etc.) in the line, then reconnect the line. Or you can get a EGR block off plate

2008 chrysler 300 under hood fire. looking for common problems. wire burnt on egr tube. is this normal?

I have been a Chrysler Technician for 13 years and I have never seen any under hood fire issues with the 300. My first question would be is have you had any other repairs done recently. The EGR valve is on the back of the right cylinder head, and the EGR tube runs across the back of the engine to the intake manifold. If repairs were made and the wiring was not routed correctly it may have caused your problem.

How much should it cost to replace a bad egr valve for a 2005 chrysler 300c

An EGR valve is simple enough to replace. The part alone costs roughly $90.
It is located at the back of the engine.
If you take a look, there will be a Iron rod going from the back of your intake manifold ... downwards ... its going to the EGR Valve.

Cheers,

Where is the egr valve locatedin the 2005 chrysler 300 limited

Your EGR valve is located inthe back of your engine. Take a look at your Intake Manifold... you will see an Iron Rod going from the back of your intake manifold ...downwards in the back of your engine. That rod connects directly to your EGR Valve.
It is fairly easy to replace.

What will happen if i keep driving my chrysler 300 with a intake manifold leak. Its not leaking fluids just has a air leak

Certain vacuum leaks can cause a hole to burn a piston or multiple pistons or a valve to burn. It is just like blowing on the end of a lit cigarette. Adding the extra air just makes the flame so much hotter that components can just start to melt. Hope I helped. Thanks.
