Engine runs at idle all plugs fire, but when the engine is throttled is starts to miss and runs rough if i put a strob light on the ht wires you can see the miss fire on all the leads

If you can see electrical sparks across the ht leads then you may have a tracking/shorting problem somewhere.

You haven't said what vehicle you have, but a rotor arm or distributor cap can crack and cause the problem you describe. As can a coil/ignition pack and of course, the leads themselves.

There's no real way of testing ht leads apart from replacing them. The same applies to a rotor cap and rotor arm.

Check inside your rotor cap - if you - can - look for 'tracking' marks... burning. Try cleaning it and spray everything with an ignition sealant to see if that eases the problem.

However, replacement - if you suspect any of these items to be at fault - is the only real answer

Misfire

misfire come from HT leads and injectors. Check fuel pressure is correct . check HT leads ( separation is important). Check for carbon tracks and moisture in distributor cap.

Have a 2001 Magnum 318 V-8 W/Intermitted Popping/Missfiring With No Check-Engine Light ! Ignition-Wires,Spark-Plugs,Rotor-Distributor-Cap,Coil+TPS All New ,Still Act's-Up As Mentioned Above!!

I would be checking the firing order of the HT leads as you may have crossed leads which will cause the problems.. Ensure that the HT leads do not touch each other as that will cause miss fires as the current jumps across the leads and fires the wrong plug. There are spacer clamps available to keep the wires apart. The problem is most evident on el cheapo plug leads as there is less insulating properties as to the dearer ones.

Engine missing and dificult to start sometimes, particularly after short trips

Could be simple thing like a plug, had a sservice recently???
However these engines are very very common for head gasket failure, check fluids, i.e, coolant look for oil contamination, and oil check for water etc, check plugs for wear and corrosion.

Good luck Davelee
