How do you remove the front drive shaft in a 1995 jeep grand cherokee limited

Use white paint, chalk or a scribe to mark the relationship of the front U joint to the front diferential pinion yoke. Mark the relationship of the rear U joint flange to the transfer case companion flange. Unbolt the front end of the drive shaft from the pinion yoke and the rear end from the transfer case companion flange and remove the drive shaft from the vehicle.
hope thei info helps.

check the u-joints at the shaft ends first might just be a bad one causing all the noise.

check your front shaft end joints and if necessary front hub bearings. Ive also found that there often is some benefit to backing out the steering"stop" bolts on the lower control arms to limit turn radius a bit, preventing the joints from binding as easily.

if you are driving on pavement in 4wd, STOP you will damage your transfercase or axles. 4wd is intended for low traction conditions, that dose not include wet pavement.

Noise from front

Is it full time or part time 4 wheel drive? You should check the front driveshaft u-joints.

4 wheel drive not working

sounds to me like the transfer case clutches are worn out. also the fluid could be low or dirty. try draining and refilling the transfercase with clean fluid. if it is still not working after driving it around for a few miles then you may need to replace or overhaul your transfercase
