Question about 1998 Jaguar Xj Series
The mirror does not have a set screw and requires pulling, pushing, and prying to get it off. The trick is how to do it without breaking the windshield. Help!

These mirrors are all made by one company, no matter the car maker, they all have the same problems, they are very unreliable, if u have power to the mirror which I am 100% sure u do the mirror will need to be replaced, they are not repairable they are about $250-300

Mine fell off as well. There's a spring clip holding the mirror to the base plate...you need to get a $3 glue kit from Parts America or other parts shop, re glue the base plate, then mount the mirror / reattach the clip.

i know when i programed my '98 XJ8L... i had to use the sender button on the actual opener mounted on the garage roof and not the hand-held remote... not sure if that helps
