You had a code reader or scan tool ,put on your vehicles diagnostic connector, not a computer

Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes, may reset check light

Will come back on .if you have codes stored and made no repairs

My kk jeep 2008 cluster is not working the left screen giving error the other giving horizontal light lines no all dashes are off all staring wheel functions are off too

check fuses.
try to reset , some of these clusters have a hot all time pin.
so pull all cluster fuses, 2 min. and put back. see if it wakes up
NO? then pull it and reseat all connectors to it and on it.
if not ,working, its probably bad.
but you never scanned it, missing all those errors to it.
the cluster is like your computer monitor now but uses the CAN-BUS
network in car. (or LIN bus) and if the comms are down to
PCM or BCM,. the cluster may go nuts.

not scanning it ,misses the boat., all car , today must be scanned.
period.
i use an INNOVA 3160, that sees ALL jeep codes.
B codes, U codes, all codes.
read the FSM and see all those 1000 of codes , some even show
comm's to cluster DOWN. or corrupted.
that be it. for 07 newer jeeps.

Trying to locate TCM. Jeep stalls sometimes when stopped with a clunk. And RPMs increase and fall back to normal and feels like transmission is slipping or going into neutral. thinking it may be TCM....

You don't need to go by auto zone to have codes check ! Chrysler , Dodge and jeep vehicle's can be checked without a scanner ! Turn the key on then off then back on then off again an then on an leave it on . Check in the odometer an it will show P codes ,then it will show done !
What size engine does it have ? 4.0 or 4.7 L
Fuse #17 10 amp located in the junction block powers pin #16 at the DLC . This would power up a scan tool . Not a PCM fuse !
Your vehicle does not have a separate control module for the transmission ,it is part of the PCM - powertrain control module !
Jeep vehicles with stalling an idle going high then low ( surging ) is caused most of the time by a bad TPS - throttle position sensor ! An don't use one from the aftermarket , use factory parts !

2005 jeep grand cherokee transmission control system error

Okay, wish you would of listed the code # but thats okay, the way you explained it sounds like the gear selector switch is bad, this switch is located on the side of ******, the computer and ****** think its in d3 this is cause most of the time 90% of the time to a bad selector switch also called a neutral safety switch,

replace switch reset codes and check ****** fluid , not sure how far you drove like this but if fluid is brunt i would have it flushed, not drain and fill but flushed, a BG flush.

I think with a flush and selector switch you will be all set, good day.

Check engine light is on. ran codes and shows o2 sensors. replaced o2 sensors and still showing the same codes

you might have to take it in and have them reset the light, they usually reset themselves but i know on some vehicles they need to be reset by a computer

I recently put my 98 jeep wrangler on a computer and the computer said i had a random misfire on the #6 cyl. What do i need to check or replace to solve this problem.

Replace all the spark plugs and wires and reset the code. If code starts coming back i would look into the fuel injectors or worse a burned valve. Hope this helps!

Why does my check engine light keep comming on? I have had the sensors replaced and the computer has been reset but the light still comes on. this has been an ongoing problem for the past year or so. I...

have the fuel ssystem checked for integrity, even a gas cap can cause the light to go on, or it may be a mechanical problem trying to show up but is not serious enough yet to cause a drivability problem
