The car was overheating so we took the heads off and then changed the gaskets (they were tore up) the heads have no problems at all. but when we put the car back together the computer in the dash said there was a theft security problem and the car would not start.

My son took his car to Ramona tire shop because his 2006 mustang was overheating thay said the problem is this

they are not qualified to repair a wheel barrow
your son is wasting his money and time dealing with them
the first test for overheating is a compression test to check for head gasket or cracked head/s
water pumps do not cause over heating as they are only water circulators
thermostats often do and if not installed correctly will still cause a problem
find yourself an accredited service center with experience on your make of vehicle and get a proper diagnosis and quote

Usually means the head gasket is leaking pressure into the cooling system, or the radiator cap is faulty.

It could be a circulation problem as you insist, but you know the head gasket can also cause the same problem yes because the head gasket also has water holes on it .so when there is a bent or a cut on the gasket it can cause overheating.thank you

Overheating when idleling

Its not impossible for there to be a bad head gasket or leaking. But I agree with you the over heating will be there during driving as well. I would change the fan clutch and replace the thermostat, if the thermostat that was replaced wasn't an oem/delaer thermostat, I would change it. From prior experience with these type of vehicle the most likely cause of overheating thermostat and fan clutch. Aftermarket thermostat just aren't good for this vehicle I have proved it a few times for myself. Take my advise and change the thermostat with an oem one and the fan clutch with an oem. Good Luck. Get in contact with me if you need more help.
