My 2003 toyota corrolla wont start. turn the key, no clicking, just nothing. lights seem strong, heater fan blows, radio works so dont think its battery issue. can tell you after 20 min drive last night car sat for about 45 minutes and wouldnt start. went back up today after sat all night and started right up. drove it home 20 minute drive, turned it off tried to restart, nothing. let it cool an hour with hood open, it started again.but tried to start alittle while ago with engine cool and it wouldnt do anything again. so i was thinking it was temperature related but now thinking maybe not

May have a bad starter colenoid, easier to replace the whole starter. sometimes the starter colenoid goes 1st when really hot & then it cools & restart no problem. next time it won't start, try boosting it.if you can, tap on starter when turning key at same time, if it starts, you know it's bad starter.hope this is some help!!

More than likely it is your starter solenoid. The starter will have to be removed. Here is a link to tell how to get the starter out. http://www.ehow.com/how_6496417_replace-starter-2003-toyota-corolla.html

It could also be a bad connection on either the battery positive or negative. A quick way to check is to try to move the connections by hand. If you can move them. Then they are loose. If they are loose they will cause exactly the symptoms you are describing.

Try moving the shifter to neutral and try to start, then back to park.

Battery very weak
Alternator not working
Bad connections at battery posts, or bad connections on ground cable

If you can jump the car to start it, and it will stay running, take it to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc and have them test your battery/alternator.

The 2003 impala will not start / you turn the key and nothing happens. the door locks do not work / the heater does not work/ and there is a clicking noise in behind the glove box. the battery is brand...

no start and door locks are consistent with security system activation. Is your security light blinking? Are you using the factory key with the resistor on the blade? Do you have another factory key you can try?
Not sure why the blower would be affected. Does the radio work? If not, check the radio fuse inside the car, as I think it runs the blower controller. Also check the HVAC fuse under the hood--#29--this one affects the security light.
I think the body control module is behind the glove box, but not sure why it would be clicking in these circumstances.
Let me know what you find out and if you have questions along the way.

Hmmm. Don't be too hasty replacing the starter. With no exterior lights working it suggests an open circuit in the system that could relate to your starting problem. Start with your fuses that are related to lighting and starting. Check connections for corrosion and rust.

Toyota Corolla AC/heater fan only works intermittently

I had the same problem on my 2004 Corrolla and ultimately it only worked on high. The dealer charged me $45 diagnostic fee and almost immediately told me it was a part called the blower resister. They knew the answer right there and then but only realesed it when I agreed to pay the diagnostic. They charged me 179.00 to fix the AC and later I found out the part cost $8.95 and a novice could have replaced it themselves.
