Question about 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

My cigar outlet and power outlets do not work. I have checked all the fuses. I've seen post that said the wire on the back may be off. What exactly do I have to do to get to that wire? Do I take most of the lower dash off or what? Thanks.

Remove the ash tray to expose that wire or wires, depending on how many outlets you have.but for sure make sure your fuse is good !st try wiggling that fuse or even replacing it before you dismantle your ashtray.hope this helps!!

12v aux power outlet not working

Note the diagram. See the power point and cigar lighter, is that what your talking about? The top wire to component is voltage, bottom wire is ground. As you can see, the cigar lighter gets voltage from a fuse.

Keep blowing ecu fuse on 1996 Hyundai elantra

do you have an auxiliary cigar lighter or power outlet? Usually located in the console. The ECU power circuit is routed through the cigar lighter or auxiliary power outlet. disconnect auxiliary power and check again.

The power outlet in the front drivr side by the cup holder doesnt work.

The power outlets get their power from the power outlet relay. The power outlet relay gets its power from fuse #21 in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment. It is a 20 Amp fuse. If the other power outlet works, it is not caused by the relay or the fuse. You most likely would have a broken wire or defective power outlet in this case.

Can't get charger ports to work all fuses are good

The rear auxilliary power outlet is powered by a 20Amp fuse located
in the right-side instrument panel fuse block. It is marked "RR PWR"

The front Auxilliary power outlet and the Cicarette lighter are
powered by the CIGAR/DLC/APO FRT fuse which is also located in the
right side instrument panel fuse block. This one is a 15Amp fuse.

If both of these fuses are good, then you either have wiring harness problems, or all of your outlets are unplugged.

My lighter outlet and rear power source does,nt work.Is this a fuse problem?

Most likely . Check fuses . If it is not solid and looks melted in fuse it is blown. Also have seen wires come loose from back of outlets.

Power outlets won't work in a 2007 Chevy Uplander

Sometimes Chevy calls the power outlets "Cigar".  This fuse is sometimes inside the driver's door on the left side of the dash, or under the hood in the Power Distribution Center (PDC).  It won't hurt to take any fuses out to check them.  Just make sure you don't take the ones with the yellow handles out.  Those are for your air bags.
