Noise from ac compressor

That would depend on the problem and prices in your area.
You can call around and ask for the cost to replace the ac clutch and the compressor.
If the bearing in the clutch is the noise, the clutch can be replaced without replacing the entire compressor assembly.

97 lINCOLN TOWN CAR, AIR WORKED LAST YEAR, EVERYONE ASSUMES IT THE COMPRESSOR BUT THEN SOMEONE TOLD ME TO CHECK THE AIR CUTOFFF RELAY; WHAT DOES THIS DOE AND COULD IT BE THE PROBLEM?

remove the 2 pin connector from the receiver dryer bottle (A/C cycling switch). Jumper the 2 wires in the connector, it will make the compreesor run if above 45 degrees outside. If it works then, try adding a 12 oz can of R134a and see what happens.
There is a cut off switch if preesure gets too high but I doubt that is your issue.

A/c blowing HOT air. compressor is running. It's like it is stuck on hot.

you can try adding freon from a kit to the low side.......smaller fitting.....the compreesor turns but is most likely not engaged due to low pressure........add freon with leak detector.....if it fixes it fine, if it happens again you have a leak......take to shop......reseach there are rip-off outs their!!!!!

Howdo i no if my compreesor on my airshock work for

You can disconnect the level control switch, which should be, possibly on the right rear lower control arm. Then turn the key on,and move the switch arm up or down. The compressor should come on and raises the car. You can also adjust it, but only a little. You should hear the compressor, every time you start the car. It can be running and waiting for the need to inflate the rear air struts.

Service ride control

rear compressor use to come on often(heard "minor" left rear air leak after stopping and shutting car off). The compressor always came on at start up. after a well loaded family camping trip, the compreesor stopped comming on. when we arrived and I unloaded the cargo, the compressor came on and raised the rear end of the vehicle after unloading the "camping stuff" the compressor came on and re-leveled the car. After trip home and unloaded, the compressor no longer comes on, although car is level and rides nice, but when people used to get in the back seats, the compressor came on and slightly raised the vehicle. I found no blown fuses. would dealer codes say bad compreesor or is there a way to check the compressor? also if I replace the shocks with ones that do not require the compressor, will I be able to ever pull a heavely load car or tow anything without dragging/sagging? any information or insight would be much appreciated... thanks in advance

Compressor doesnt run.

There is a pressure switch on the accumulator. The compressor cyles according to the low pressure reading at the accumulatror. If there is low refridgerent pressure the switch stays "OFF" and wont turn ther compressor on. Whan a system is low, there will be rapid cycling of the compressor, (on and off every few seconds). When the system is charged with the correct amount, the pressure is related to the temperature of the refridgerent. The compressors are common to leak. So it it doesnt leak, or make knocking noises, the compreesor MAY be good, but a pressure gauge will tell you if the compressor is good or bad. If you keep having to charge it, thats bad, and there is a leak. You will need to find and repair the leak, replace the drier (accumulator) , and recharge the system.

Air conditioner blows warm air

  1. Dear sir

i think it can be low gas problem.and it's up to you take help from a car mechanic or do this by yourself. if you think it can be by you then follow the method who is giving you below.
please start your car after that make on air conditioner and keep it on cool mode after that open your car's bonut/front cover and find out compressor who is running with a fan belt to engine if it's runnig then don't touch this area it can be harmful or accident able . now need a many fold for know the actual presser inside of the system. connect the many fold to the gas refilling line/or suction line ( who is coming from compreesor) and read the presser. now if you can follow this method then do if not please contact to your car expert workshop for find out the leakage and refilling the gas in it.
