yes also worn or bad key ===dead battery ---loose or corroded ,short wiring connections ---blown fuse---bad ,worn,sticking ignition switch --starter short or malfunction

Try gas line anti freeze also known as dry gas

Does the engine turn over and just doesent run? Or?

if it is only no spark, check crank sensor and coil. the crank sensor tells the coil when to spark

Hello, if you're still having this problem it sounds like it is most likely your ignition "switch" itself. This is generally a $300.00 fix at your local Saab dealer however you can replace it yourself with a moderate level of mechanical knowledge. I'm assuming you have the encoded blocky non traditional looking "key" with a backup "traditional" key stored within. This key contains a code which is picked up by the CIM releasing the steering lock and allowing you to turn the key and start the vehicle. In Saabs infinate wisdom?? They found it appropriate to place this delicate electrical device within inches of a cup holder and high probability of being drenched in whatever your beverage at the time happens to be (usually coffee or soda). This can cause failure of the unit, requiring replacement. Are you able to hear the "click" (steering lock release) when you put the key in? Does your message center display any information? "Steering lock malfunction" "key not recognized"? I'm willing to bet that the problem is likely in this area. I do have a used (in good working condition and in nice shape) spare ignition switch and key if you determine that this is what you need. ok are you ready, first turn the ign on but do not turn the key to the start position, the alarm should sound, as soon as the alarm stops sounding, count 10 seconds then start the vehicle,this will disable the alarm unless you set it with the remote, if that doesent disable it repeat above again it has to be 10 second count after alarm stops..

i have a c180 merc petrol when starting the starter dosnt engage prop for afew turns then it engages and engine starts i have change the ring gear plus change the starter and still geting the same prob

does it turn over every time when you say doesn't start need a better description ,check battery ,battery cables,battery terminals if it does crank and just doesn't start check ignition switch ,main relay or ignition ignitor
