Changing termostat in 2005 malibu

Follow 'Top' Hose from radiator, that Alloy body the hose is connected to is the Thermostat housing, should be 2-3 bolts (12mm?) holding it down. Unbolt that, change-over thermostat and gasket (should be supplied with Thermo). Tighten bolts back up, Hose on, fill Coolant, then your done.
Hope that helps.

Where is the thermostat houseing on a 2004 chevy malibu classic

A big pain in the but* It's right under the throttle body, follow the throttle cables to where they attached to the intake, then look underneath to where the hose connects. You can change it without removing the throttle body assembly but it is probably easier to do so.

Power sttering loss

its possible this is electric, if you have an owners manual that will tell you, or call your local chevy dealership parts department, give them the vehicle identification number and they can answer it.
if its electric, most likely the fuse blew.

Change thermostat

that is mostly labor cost. the thermostat is only 3-5 dollars at most and to change out the thermostat takes an hour at most with replacement and coolant top off.
