Question about 2005 Nissan Frontier

There are two pipes that comes from inside the vehicle that has to do with the cooling/heating system. they are located at the passenger side. What is the correct name?

It is called the Heater core evaporator pipe bracket plus the heater core which comes with the pipes that your talking about, which other pipes fit to that runs threw out your motors cooling system
For a trained mechanic it take approximately 6 hours to replace and a factory part price is $150.00 (27120EA000 is part number#) you might be able to purchase aftermarket from a parts store .

Air Circulation
When the heated/cool seat switch is pressed to initiate operation of the climate control seat (CCS) system, cabin air is drawn through the heated/cool ventilation module air filter, then directed through passages in the foam of the seat cushion and seat back to the seat's occupant. In order for the CCS system to operate to its optimum performance, it is crucial to have unrestricted air flow through the system. A dirty or restricted air filter, the blockage of an exhaust air duct, a misaligned heated/cool ventilation module, or incorrect foam installation of the seat cushion or seat back will all have negative effects on CCS operation.
Heated/Cool Ventilation Module
Each heated/cool seat has 2 ventilation modules, one located under the seat cushion and one located in the seat back. These modules are controlled by the climate control seat module (CCSM). Each ventilation module contains a thermo-electric device (TED), a temperature sensor, and a blower motor. The TED and temperature sensor are mounted downstream of the blower motor. Each TED consists of a circuit of positive and negative connections sandwiched between 2 ceramic plates. Each ceramic plate is equipped with copper fins for heat exchange. The air flowing past these fins is either directed as conditioned air into the seat cushion and seat back, or directed into the cabin as waste air.
A TED is essentially a solid state heat pump that is used to heat or cool the air supply to the seat cushion and seat back. When voltage is applied to a TED, one side releases energy as heat, while the opposite side absorbs energy and gets cold. When the polarity of the current flow to the TEDs is switched, the hot and cool sides of the TED reverse.
During the following climate control seat system description and operation, the TEDs, blower motors, and temperature sensors will be referenced independently even though they are all packaged together as a module.
Climate Control Seat (CCS) System
The CCS system consists of two heated/cool ventilation modules and one climate control seat module (CCSM) that controls both the driver and passenger heated/cool seats systems. The CCSM is mounted below the front passenger seat cushion. It receives power from both, battery positive voltage and ignition 3 voltage.
Once a CCS system is activated, cabin air is drawn through the seat blower motors and directed across the fins of each of the thermo-electric device (TED) located under the seat cushion and in the seat back. The air is either heated or cooled as it passes over the TEDs. This conditioned air is then directed through channels in the foam of the seat pad and through small holes in the seat cover to the occupant. Once the system is activated, the CCSM uses a set of algorithms to control the temperature of the selected heating or cooling modes.
Your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop an have it diagnosed .

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the C1 harness connector at the CCSM.
  2. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal M and ground.
  3. ?‡'
    If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

  4. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal E and ground.
  5. ?‡'
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

  6. Disconnect the C2 harness connector at the CCSM.
  7. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 1 and ground.

    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

  9. If all circuits test normal, replace the CCSM.

Wet floorboard 2004 toyota highlander passenger side


Often the floor of the passenger side become wet if the drain pipe of the evaporator is:
- Bent or twisted.
- Clogged or,
- There is any obstruction in its routing.
The drain pipe is a rubber hose about 14 mm in diameter, located just under the evaporator (cooling coil) casing on the passenger side.
The most easiest way to clean the pipe is to take it out, wash it from inside with water or to blow a compressed air slowly through its distal end while leaving it in place under the body.
Note: Keep your eyes away while blowing the air.

Hi Mr.Downs.
Are you sure is only leaking when the vehicle gets warm? On checking the coolant level when the engine is cold and before starting is in a correct level?
Is it possible to be any drain pipe either if you do have air conditioning and running the air con then water comes out from that pipe and might you do have any dirt by the vaporator and gets the orange color.
Also do check for your power steering fluid,if there is any leakage
from the steering rack if it is close to that pipe and confusing you ?

Look at scan tool data

Your cabin heat issue may very well be several HVAC Blend
Door Vent Motors have failed
That data should be on the scan tool as well in enhanced data
& go to the hvac module

You can switch the heat or air flow to test if they are switching properly

9 times out of 10, thats from a leak in the heater core. Thats the little radiator type thing that the air blows thru to heat your car. It runs antifreeze thru it. Its connected to the coolant system and heats up with your car. Normally can see the two pipes running thru you the wall from under the hood to the inside bhind dash. It can be located on the passenger side or the middle console. Can you see that little green arrow?tayjoejoe_1.jpg

The "smoke" you saw was your coolant. The vehicle uses engine coolant piped into the cabin of the car and through a little radiator under the dash for the heater. The blower in your car forces air over this radiator and this heated air is what you feel at the vents.
If you're lucky then one of the hoses has sprung a leak. This is a relatively uncomplicated cheap fix. The other thing that could have happened is that the cabinheater radiator has sprung a leak. If the leak is serious then the heater radiator will need to come out for repair or replacement.
You could try running some radiator stop leak(I've used Wynn's before) through the system and see if it helps. If the leak is on the radiator it might just work. On the pipes it will not be successful. Buy a bottle at your local spare shop/Autozone. Put it in the cooling system(do not open a cooling system with the vehicle hot!) and let the vehicle idle for a while. (Read instructions on the bottle) If it does not work, have the heater radiator removed and repaired.

Could be seperate fuses for each side, locate the correct fuse using your manual and check to see if fuse is blown. Or, it is more likely to be that the pipe carrying hot air to the blower has came off or split, therefore heat is being produced but not getting from the engine bay (where it is heated) to the inside of the vehicle

Did you replace the fan? How about the fan switch?

This switch is the primary controller of the operation of the radiator fan(s) used for cooling. When the coolant in the system reaches a pre-determined temperature, the fan switch closes and completes a circuit. The fans will be brought on. Generally, the switch communicates with the fan relay, although the later PGM-FI cars send the signal through one of the many solid-state controllers first. Do not assume that the switch is the only component in the radiator fan circuit which controls its operation. There are many other components whose failure may prevent the radiator fan from operating. If the fans are not working when the engine is very warm, check the fuses first.
On all vehicles except 1990-95 Accords and 1992-95 Preludes, the fan switch is located in the bottom of the radiator. On 1990-95 Accords (except V-6) and 1992-95 Preludes, the switch is located in the housing at the rear end of the coolant connecting pipe. This is the pipe running along the outside of the engine, just above the oil filter. The switch the only electrical component in the housing. On the Accord V-6, it threaded into the side of the coolant crossover pipe (not next to the bleed bolt) on the transaxle side of the engine.

Driver side heat blows cool air passenger side blows hot air


Hello. The side that is not operating properly has a bad temp door actuator located up under the dash. I am assuming this vehicle has driver/passenger(dual)climate control heat and cold settings. This is a very common problem on these vehicles. Hope you find this information useful!
