If you have to add brake fluid, check for leaks, check in back of tire's for wetness, if you don't have to be adding brake fluid, replace Master Cylinder, it's by-passing internaly, bad Master cylinder.

I have a 1989 Chevy pickup 1/2ton and can not get the brakes to work. I bought the truck a year ago and drove it to work and the drivers front brake locked up and cause it to melt the caliper so I replace...

the brake lines leading to the calipers could be broken someplace, i suggest checking all your brake lines including the lines comeing from the rear end

Pedal wont depress brake fluid on master cylinder fluid level good no recent brake work

Does it go all the way to the floor? or does it stay at the top? if it stays at the top and they do not work then the master cylider is bad or the booster brake is defective. you will have to test this but you will need speceal tools. Do you have line wrenchs? if you do respond to this and I will tell you how to test the system.

Brake pedal goes to the floor? replaced all the brakes and bled them. worked for very short time and now the pedal goes to the floor.

If the fluid level is staying constant then it sounds like the brake master cylinder or the master cylinder booster. If the seals are bad on the master cylinder the piston just goes through the fluid. Many boosters use air pressure to assist in the braking proces and it could have a leak.

ABS and Brake light stay on plus pedal is soft after tight turn

sounds like you have low brake fluid pressure and the pressure sensor is turning on warning lights saying there is low pressure and also pedal going to floor indicate this, sounds like master brake cylinder is worn out/broke and needs replace ment

Brake pedal will go all the way to the floor

make sure brake fluid is full. then pump brakes for one minuite check the fluid to see if it went down or stayed full. if it went down then check the system for a leak . if it stays full then you will need a new mastercylender . i dont think you have a vacum problem cause this causes a verry stiff brake pedal not one that goes to the floor
