This is most likely caused by a master cylinder bleeding down. sometimes pushing the fluid back thru cylinder can finish of an old cylinder and cause this to start after brake job. replace cylinder and bleed out

You might need to bleed the brakes. You may have a small air pocket in one of the lines.

Next to no Brakes

No, but could be pad knock back which can be caused by run out of the rotors. This can happen if your pads have worn down too far in the past. I'd advise you to have the rotors ground (on the car) and new pads fitted. The fronts are critical but have the rears checked for run out too. Sometimes new seals in the calipers can help hold the pads against the rotors.This will improve the loss of pedal condition.

1999 Chevy Tahoe- Soft Brake Pedal

Try having the dealer flush and bleed your system. It is very hard to bleed ABS systems yourself and have safe brakes that still work afterward. Bleeding non-ABS brakes yourself is easy not the same for ABS brakes. Valving, sensors and what-not require a tech and the correct equipment in my opinion. You do it wrong and you could ruin your ABS system. Do that and see if they firm up. I replaced my brake shoes/pads at the same time all new everything in back, drums/springs everything and new rotors up front. then I had the chevy dealer flush, refill and bleed system. Stiffer pedal and brakes work better. Keep in mind the brakes on 99 Tahoes are inaedequate, require new rotors often, heat up and fade/glaze pads regularly. I replace my pads long before they wear down because they glaze up and start fading early. I'll rough em up once maybe, next time, new ones. Every two brake jobs, new rotors for me. Just how it is. They will stiffen a bit and work better but they will never be awesome brakes. Just how it is on 99 and earlier Tahoes. Hope it helps. Very important to bleed correctly though. I'll bleed my 83 Toyota 4x4 myself but not the Tahoe.

Is it safe to drive car if brakes caught fire - still has lining!

I would suggest that you adjust your rear brakes. Most likely you have drum brakes in the rear. When the rear brakes are out of adjustment (caused by not using "e-brake" when you park the car. The "e-brake" when applied keeps the rear brakes adjusted with a self adjusting mechanism.) the front brakes have to do ALL of the work to stop the car. In this case going down a steep grade for a long time simply overheated the front brakes. When the front brake pads overheat they get "glazed" and don't want to work anymore. Most likely reason for brake pedal going to the floor is the brake fluid was boiling. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Parking brake pedal goes to floor

Hello;
The parking brake cables may be stretched and in need of adjustment. Follow the cables along to a nut. Then you can tighten the adjusters up on both sides until you have the proper tension. Also make certain none of the brackets are bent or broken that the cables ride through.
Thanks;

How to tell if the Brake Master Cyclinder is bad on 1991 VW Golf. About 4 months ago new front and rear brakes installed by repair shop. Front got both, new calipers, both new pads, both new rotors. ...

you can tell if the break master cyclinder is bad, if you don't have any break action or peddle to the floor, break is sticking, or any other break related symtom, not normal to your daily driving.
