SOURCE: Wheel bearing schedule maintenance
The way to detect a worn hub bearing is to take a turn and note if there is a vibration or increased noise or both when. To determine which side has the worn bearing if the noise is present when you take a left the right side bearing is bad and vise versa. The life span of hub bearings can be from 80,000 miles all the way up to 250,000 miles it usually depends on terrain exposure to moisture during use etc.
