There is no external filter in the fuel line, filter is in the tank, doesn't need to be changed unless you have a pump failure

How to relace the fuel filter 2007 chevy uplander

Usually need a special tool to remove the filter from the fuel lines. It is actually quite easy, but you may learn some new words until you figure out the puzzle of getting them off. Most often located under vehicle on drivers side, will look like a small can in the middle of the line. Go to your local auto store and they can show you the tool and how to use it. Be careful, you are messing with fuel.

I need to change the fuel filter in my 2006 chevy uplander i wanted to know if the fuel filter is in the tank or on the out side

Unfortunately it's inside the tank. It's about a 3 hour job to replace so if you go that rout you might as well replace the fuel pump at the same time Sorry for the bad news...;)

Hello jerry otto: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The only fuel filter that your vehicle has is located in the fuel tank as part of the fuel sender unit. There is no filter on the frame rail.. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

It's kind of difficult to drop a fuel tank and replace the fuel tank module due to the weight and danger of gasoline catching fire or exploding.

Fuel filter for the chevy uplander

The fuel filter on this vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is an integral part of the fuel pump module assembly. As such, it's not replaceable by itself and can only be serviced by replacing the entire pump module. It's a "lifetime" filter, in theory anyway, but it can plug up if there has been a large amount of crud that has gotten into the tank somehow. The best way to determine if the filter is restricted is to have the fuel pressure tested as part of a road test drive to see if the pressure remains steady [indicating a good pump and ok filter] or drops off [indicating a restricted filter or weak pump] Hope this helps!
