Question about 1996 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

This is about the high pressure side hose from the power steering pump which has a sort of electric shut off. Dati nag leak at pinalitan ng bagong hose using the same valve. after 2 months, umingay na na pag pihit ng manibela. Pag inalis mo yung connection ng kureyente o ibalik mo man, parang walang epekto. Ano problem? Yung electric shut-of o yung hose o and power steering pump. Magkano yong pump, o yun bagong hoes assembly kasama yung valve. Power steering fluid leaking. change hose? change pump? Re clamp?

If the hose itself is leaking (not the connection/end) , replace the hose. If the hose is more than 5 years old, I'd probably just replace it. If it's the low pressure hose (return) and it's leaking at the junction, you can probably replace the clamp. If it's the high pressure hose (with the machine-formed hose ends) then replace the hose - a clamp is unlikely to withstand the pressure and you don't want to take the chance of it blowing off when you're turning.

Power steering hose diagram

power steering hoses run from pump to the steering box, (high pressure) and from the steering box to pump (low side).. is a closed connection. pump to box, then from box back to pump. High pressure should have pressed on fittings, while low side may have normal water hose clamps or replaceable hose without pressed on fittings.

Car is leaking power steering fluid can u give me the diagram for the high pressure power steering line

We do not have a diagram but follow the high pressure hose from the PS pump to the steering gear, clean it off with a pressure washer first and then you can id the leak which will be the high pressure hose I bet..

I know I have power steering fluid leak in my 1995 GMC Sierra but not for the life of me can I find where I put the fluid in at or where to check it I do not have owners manual.

on most motors the power steering pump is located attached to a pulley along the serpentine or fan belts. the resevoir is part of the pump housing..do not overfill. In most US vehicles the pump is bolted to brackets at lower right side on front of motor (looking from front of vehicle)

No power steering and smoking from hood

[1]the power steering pump might have siezed up causing the belt to slip to burn on the pulley. [2]or the pump broke the shaft internally and some fluid is leaking out and hitting the exaust[3] a hose has sprung a leak and it is spaying oil on the exaust manifold

AFTER MAKING A U TURN ALL OF MY POWER STEERING FLUID FLOWED OUT . I REFILLED IT 2 BLOCKS FROM HOME IT ALL RAN OUT BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THE LEAK IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. COULD IT BE A HOSE.

You has a leak on the high or low pressure return hose.

The high pressure line is machine press on and it heavy duty. (it's between power steering pump and rack)

The low pressure line is thinner.
(It's return from the rack to the pump)

Check for leaks on both lines.

Order the correct section from part store.

Power Steering Recently my power steering pipe blew and started leaking due to it comming in contact with the engine. Is it possible to remove and replace this pipe or is it a sealed unit to the steering...

if it's the low pressure side i'm sure a mechanic can replace just the broken part. if it's the high pressure side, best off just to get a new hose. if not, the hose is likely to leak again on the high pressure hose if the unit isn't replaced.
