Question about Chrysler 300

1 Answer

I recently purchased a car that has this alarm on it but for some reason its not working to the car but the remote itself is working. I was wondering if there is a kill switch or an activation switch that allows you to cut it back on so that the alarm will work with the car?

Entertain the possibility that a previous owner got tired of the alarm going off and disabled it.
if there is a question on this board almost as common as i lost my owner's manual, it is how do i shut off this annoying alarm which goes off constantly killing my battery and annoying the whole neighborhood.

Can a new remote be programmed if alarm is set?

Hi Kim, When you ordered the new key the dealer should have asked for the chassis number? That gives them the codes to pre program. so that it should activate and deactivate the alarm, if that is the problem! ? Regards John

this happened to us when we got a new key and had it programmed with the car. anytime we locked the doors and opened them with the key instead of the remote, the alarm would set itself off. we took out the fuse for the alarm.

We purchased a 1990 Chev truck with a viper alarm and the keyless remote is pretty well shot. How do we determine the model so that we can order a new remote? Many times we cannot get the truck to start...

Unless the remote is identified by a model # then your going to have to get the model & S/N on the alarm control box itself.
The remote should have a number on it RPN

Remote is damaged so unusable, but alarm will go off in the driveway in the middle of the day for no reason....any explanation?

When you say remote is damaged??? How is it damaged?? If it has gotten really wet or broken it is possible that if near the car meaning close enought the remote could be activating the alarm itself. Some of those remotes have a panic button on them and or can act as panic by holding two button same time

VW Beetle Alarm goes off for no apparent reason

the sensitivity on the alarm itself is too high, or there is something around the car that is interfering with the frequencies that are sent / received by the alarm itself, like other car alarms, power lines (mine actually did it when i parked under a power line) or the alarm unit itself is malfunctioning.

make sure that nothing is around to the (other cars with alarms) or look up under your dash, above your pedals (might have to take the trim plate off) and / or turn the sensitivity knob (flat-head screw driver, or just a simple protruding knob) down. make sure the battery in the remote is good too. if it stil ldoes it after this, then your remote needs to be reprogrammed.

How to set factory alarm without remote, togle switch enabled

factory alarms are passive, if it is working it sets itself when u exit the car. u don't need the remote for the alarm to work if it has a factory system. if u want to test if it is working lock the car with the power lock button and leave the window down, reach inside the car and open the door from the inside handle, the alarm will sound if it is working, to disarm just lock and unlock driver door with the key..

Does my Jeep have an alarm installed?

If you did not get the Remote Chances are No. Even if it does it would Be very tough to Get a Remote for a System that has no Remote. Most of the Companies will not issue you an Extra Remote for the System if you do not have one already since this is what the Thieves do to get remotes to Resell the Units. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help That I can Get! Thanks!
