Howtodrainatifreeze

You can drain the antifreeze at the radiator drain plug, which is located on the lower front of the radiator on the drivers side. If your model doesn't have the drain plug, then remove the lower radiator hose and drain. Make sure you have something in place to catch the antifreeze and always drain antifreeze after the car has had time to cool off.

I want to change my antifreeze in my 2003 merc grand marque. Where is the drain plug on the radiator? Do I pour the new antifreeze into the overflow tank on top when I refill it?

look down at rad from top to get familiar with where i am talking about. now opposite side of the lower rad hose is where you want to go, two styles of rads, one has a wing nut type white plug, and other as 6 sided white plug, unthread with pliers or by hand loosen till desired flow is coming out. fill into reservior or overflow tank to half way and run engine til i reaches operating temperature and you has good heat out of heater, this makes sure all air is out of system, and this is complete ttop up to full and install cap

Best way to change coolant in 2003 sierra

With engine cold, remove radiator cap. At bottom of radiator on left side (as you stand in fronof truck), there is a plastic drain plug that screws into the radiator. This plug does not look like a bottle cap, rather it looks like a large, raised tab. Turn counterclockwise to remove. Have a large pan under the truck at this location, or have the truck parked on the grass. Allow to drain completely. Dispose of the old antifreeze and do let children or pets drink it; it is deadly poison. If you want to do this right, replace the plug, refill the radiator with water only, replace the radiator cap, start engine and let run until opwerating temperature is reached (about 20 minutes), then turn engine off, let cool completely, and repeat the drain procedure. This will more thoroughly remove the old antifreeze from the system. Now refill the radiator with the proper mixture of new antifreeze and water, run engine to proper operating temperature. turn off engine and let cool completely. Add additional water and antifreeze into the coolant overflow bottle if necessary. After changing antifreeze, you may need to add more again after couple of days.

Probably a gash in under the radiator; drain-plug not tight or bad; hoses leaking.
