Question about 1999 Kia Sportage

Open Question

I have a 1999 Kia Sportage and had the computer scanned. I received the following codes: PO101, PO140, PO422, PO326, PO343, PO301, PO300, PO123. I want to know if it is worth trying to get the car repaired or if I should not invest anymore money into this car. Thanks for your assistance.

No, and it's not a problem with them - if it pops thru the intake it means that the coils are perfectly functional, just that they aren't triggered correctly: either the advance on the spark is set wrongly (you will need to have the distribution sensors checked) or the coil leads to the sparkplugs have been put on the wrong order - a simple check and correct plugging will fix that.

No its not a very common problem in kia,but this problem is seen in all brand/models of car.The error codes are indicating.Coil pack and spark plug fault.------ There are a lot of causes of engine misfiring, but the most common cause is bad spark plugs or spark plug wires and a worn coil pack. When one of these causes occurs it will affect air/fuel mixture firing inside the engines cylinder. The first thing to do to fix a car with engine misfiring is to replace the spark plug and the spark plug wires, replacing this parts usually fix the problem. However, if engine misfiring remains then the next part to be replace is the coil pack.-------.Also try cleaning the fuel injectors, and spark plug wires.IF the spark plug wires seems wet or moisture got collected on them,Clean then and dry them then recheck. But most probably, the coil pack and spark plug wires needs to be replaced. There are two things one there is misfire and other the codes that are also indicating. So this parts are to be replaced to solve the problem.-----------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Why my Kia Sportage 2002 will tend to heat up when running and the coolant is thrown outside radiotor

remove the thermostat and see if it still does the same. if it does, then you have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. if the temperature stays low without a thermostat and it does not throw coolant out then replace the thermostat with a new one.

2005 Chrysler 300 codes po300 and po123

The P0123 means Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input.
The P0300 means Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Clear the code with OBD2 code scanner. If it comes back on, you
still have an issue.

Hello i have a GTI its a 2.0L manual transmission, i have been having problem after problem thus far. Current engine codes PO422, PO300,PO304,PO303,PO302. I do not have a code list to see what these are...

I think that PO422 is the Cat Converter, it may be bad or may be just the O2 sensor.
The PO300, 302, 303, 304 code have to do with the ignition coils or wires. (302, 303, 304 means there are ignition /firing problems in cylinders 2, 3and 4). If your lucky just the wire and new spark plugs.
Google "engine codes Jetta" for more on web. Good luck.

Where is the knock sensor located?

the knock sensor is on the pass side of the motor slightly back from the oil filter on a stand off on the block. tricky to get to but you loose no coolant changing it.
