Make a tool from a big washer. 3/4 id .
I would love to post a picture of the washer tool.
Cut a slot in the washer then grind or file the edges of the slot until it fits the grove on the shield.
2" od. 3/4" id. cut slot .9" grind down thickness at the edge to about 0 .125 " [1/8th"] measure snug.
Use a pry bar to pop the wire off. On the back left plug wire I use a old broom handle cut down to about 30 inches with a flat at the business end.

Those wires glue themselves onto the porcelain due to heat, get sparik plub boot pliers, they are cheap, grab the boot close to the end and twist and pull

I changed spark plugs on my 01 jeep grand cherokee it was running but turned off on me now it wont start anymore.

which engine?
2001 WJ , jeep.
wrong spark plugs!
gapped wrong!
wrong wire order?
do tell engine you have there.
do tell park plug brand and numbers.
do tell if engine has coil packs, how many, and how you wired them back..
now answering for USA cars, (not exports. or those jeeps made in Europe. )

the 4.0L engine with the 3 coil rack pack? with 6 spark wire sets?
the 4.7liter has 6 coil packs coil over plug COPS.
that can not be wired wrong but could be unplugged in primary side.

my guess, wrong parts, wrong gap
or not reconnected right.
if spark is lost, scan the PCM cranking, look for DTCs/

If it ran okey before you got involved, you
failed to do your research of the task at hand
& gather the info you needed
I suspect you failed to use a ball point & mark

Misfiring after replacement of spark plugs and wires

If it wasn't misfiring before. Make sure you have the proper gap on the spark plugs. Make sure you have the wires connected in the correct order. If you have the old wires, you may want to end up trying those one at a time to make sure you don't have a defect wire either.
Thank you,

Stupid question. How to replace spark plugs on a 2003 chevy tahoe? I just want to make sure that I don't do anything wrong before attempting to do the work.

Hello, one of the main mistakes a lot of people make is pulling off all of the plug wires at once. Do them one at a time, remove that plug and replace the wire before moving on to the next plug. Grab the spark plug wire boot, not the wire and give it a slight twist to loosen it. I always start the new spark plug by hand to avoid cross threading. Once the plug is tightened, make sure the spark plug wire is fastened securely. I hope this helps.

Rewired ford taurus spark plugs and when turns on it jumps what could i have done wrong?

If you replaced the distributor cap then there is a high possibility that you put the wires in the wrong firing order on cap.

If all you did was replaced the plugs, then I would pull each one out and recheck the Gap sizes with a feeler gauge. Also check to see if the spark/coil plug wires are touching metal or each other, which can cause the spark to arc out of the wire and never get to the spark plug. If I suspect an arc and do not see a physical problem, I wait until nighttime and look under the hood while engine is running...they stick out like a sore thumb. Also make sure that you did not put the wrong plugwire to the wrong spark plug.

When you change your plugs, you should also replace wires, cap and rotor.
