Question about 1991 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Hard to start, backfires a lot in the exhaust, it ended up back firing so hard and loud that it blew my muffler apart! It was having trouble accelerating, you could barely push the pedal to get it to move, if you gave it to much gas it would bog down and sputter?

1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE,4.0L,6CYCL.,2WD,ELETRICAL PROBLEMS THAT MAKES MY TRUCK BACKFIRE SO HARD IT BLOWS MY MUFFLER OPEN LIKE A ALUMINUM CAN,SOMETIMES YOU CAN FEEL ELECTRICITY SHOOT TO THE PASSENGER

There are a couple of things that might cause a backfire and NONE of them have any relation to electricity:
1. Engine timing, the relationship of the CAM and the CRANK shaft. IF a valve is open when the engine cylinder fires then the resulting action is a backfire.
2.Cylinder misfire: There is one cylinder exhausting unfired fuel to the exhaust manifold and if he manifold is hot enough, the fuel mixture ignites.

How do I line up the crank and cam timing marks

Usually this requires removing the timing cover, removing the timing gear, and moving the cam back into the correct position, Reassemble.

What would make my 1985 chev. celerbity back fire and then back fire so loud it blew out my muffler

The most common reason would be excessive fuel in the exhaust, from a leaking injector or other problem.

What would make it back fire loud, like guns going off and then so loud it blew out my muffler ?

timing issue, (timing belt or chain) fuel being ignited in the exhaust pipes not the cylinders

My Liana got a problem of Back fire I changed ignition coil first then i Change their complete head but problem remain same?

Back fire back to where, the intake or exhaust.
intake backfire is a pop sound, not too loud, and is bad timing.
exh backfire means, fuel plus air is in the exh.
and explodes with a loud report , we call it muffler explosing to help
with clear meaning.... in this latter example
you have a bad running motor (rich as pig) a dead CAT and exhuast air leak
all at the same time.

Backfires when I take off

backfires to the Aircleaner (can cough or pop)
or to the end of exhaust tail pipe.
the former is bad cam or spark timing or both.
the latter is rich fuel mix and exhaust leaks.
air plus fuel equals muffler explosions. extreamly loud.

'95 cavalier backfired blew out muffler? help

when it backfires there is three things that can cause this water or moisture in the distributor cap or a cracked cap, or if it has a coil pack then mositure on the coils or bad spark plug wires. Fuel pump won't cause a backfire except on two stroke engines. and the other things that can cause a back fire is timing chain, or burnt or bent valves or bad compression rings.

Engine Back fired, blew out muffler.

Sounds like you may have gotten some debris in your exhaust pipe or something was clogging your muffler. Maybe the innerds of you Catalytic Coverter went and got stuck or the innerds of your muffler gave out. That would be the only few things I could think of to cause something like that.

Sincerely,

JC
